13.12.2022 - 14:58We visited paris and then drove to the loire Valley to visit some of the chateaux. cerdon is located at the eastern end of the Loire River, closest to the chateau in Sully-Sur-Loire in the south. this restaurant has so great reviews of native, it really has. our attention. I'm so glad we left! the name means the 2 woodcocks and there is a vogel and jagd lodge feeling. eating is carefully prepared by two local female chefs. they are only open thurs, fri and sat served lunch and dinner. the menu often changes depending on the season and availability of ingredients. it really reminded me of a cross between a chic beverly hills restaurant and paris bistro. a combined decor, relaxed ambiente and relaxing service. it was a great meal. our hostess was a nice lady who spoke great English. we started with the house that made foie gras. it was the best I ever had! they also served mushrooms from a local farm filled with local goat cheese. they have a great wine card (natural) and also cocktails. for our entrees we had a steak entrecote served with a compound butter provencal, a spiny ray (has to see it) in beurre blanc. the taste was like lobster in drawn butter, only better. we wanted to pass on dessert until we saw the melted chocolate cake in pistachios. it was all so delicious! I'm so glad we're gonna take the beaten away to taste this restaurant. we try in the rule to avoid the tourist site and eat here was one of the best decisions we made on our trip.
