20.11.2023 - 18:06On a quiet section of highway B1228 known as Hagg Lane sits this absolutely wonderful tea house. As we proceeded towards York we turned a corner and there was a small sign pointing to a tea house.....we do our best to visit every country tea house we see. And we were so fortunate to have seen this one!! It is a lovely glassed in tea house attached to a farm home with outdoor seating in an expansive garden. As we arrived we were warmly greeted by Jan, a very friendly lady who owned the facility. While there we had a great chat with another customer who had called in with her dog to have lunch. Also, while we were there a group of cyclists showed up and set up outside for lunch. My wife had soup which she claimed was the best she had eaten so far on our trip through England and I had a spectacular ham, cheese and cranberry pannini....so tasty!! Jan also makes lots of jams, etc. for purchase. It was a lovely sunny day and finding this tea house made it perfect. There are only two reviews for this tea house as I'm sure it is missed by most people being located in a rural area. If you happen to be in the region of York and can spend an hour or so to drive down B1228 it will be well worth your while if you turn in at the Storwook Nursaries Tea House!!!
