30.08.2023 - 15:36Love this place. Right on uni campus and they have long opening hours. So much food options, sandwiches, salads, eggs, Israeli brekkies and pastries. Love the little Mini rolls. The coffee is the best I had in Jerusalem. Service is fast and staff are friendly. The orange juice here is amazing too. They give you a free little chocolate with your order too. Open on Shabbat as well.

10.08.2023 - 06:58Whilst on our trip to Canberra, we stopped off to ‘Some Cafe’, who were using Three Mills bread. I tried the rye and it was amazing soft inner with a crunchy crust and not as strong as the rye you normally have. My friend also really liked the white option, served with his Shakshuka. We met up with another friend in Canberra who had been to Rye cafe and tried some of the bread there too. All of these factors led to us searching for Three Mills Bakery and taking a trip to the bakery headquarters. The bakery produces incredible sourdough, using traditional long ferment techniques, house milled flour, and local ingredients. They also make sweet pastries, pies and sausage rolls as well as serving soup and coffee. Named after their vision to work with three different grain suppliers, Three Mills has grown a lot since its 2013 owning and they sell wholesale to cafes and restaurants, grocery stores, as well as freshly made goods to the public and bake at home supplies. I was in the carb version of phrase “kid in a candy store” here. Wafting with delicious smells of baked goods and a wall of bread to decide from! I settled on the dark rye, grain and a loaf of the apricot and raisin. The bread here is unreal! So flavoursome and light with a good crusty exterior. We liked that the bakery slices it for you too. We didn’t leave without some pastries; a miso caramel tart (could be described as a Japanese version of a Portuguese tart), as well as a snail croissant and a pecan pie. Kurt also rated his lamb and mustard pie as one of the best he’s ever had. We highly recommend a trip here. Free home delivery in ACT with orders over $40.

30.07.2023 - 08:20Chargrill Charlie’s is a family owned business that has been operating for over 30 years. Beginning in Coogee, they’ve branched out and although no longer in Coogee, they’ve got 11 venues across Sydney and open 7 days a week. We visited our closest store, the Woollahra venue. It is both a dine in and takeaway venue and they are always super busy. This is testament to just how good the food is. At first it might look like your typical charcoal chicken shop, but it is much more than that with amazing salads, veggies, burgers and desserts and it will have you salivating for more. From the charcoal grill, their chickens do not have hormone injections and they are beautifully chargrilled, and seasoned with herbs and spices or marinated with Portuguese flavours. Of course it wouldn’t be the perfect meal without fries. You can get their nicely seasoned French fries chips or their famous hand cut potato wedges or sweet potato wedges. We tried them all and can’t choose our favourite They use the freshest of ingredients and seasonal produce to make their famous salads, made in house everyday. They will suit a range of crowds and we tried the poke salad, Buddha salad and roasted cauliflower. The Golden quinoa salad was also an absolute winner. There’s a hot menu with a lot of choice from baked salmon, chicken drumsticks, meatballs and curry to casseroles and Lentils. We had the amazing lamb shanks and mixed roasted vegetables and they were a great accompaniment. As we were here for a huge spread, we both got a burger, the chicken and also a cheeseburger. Free range chicken and grass fed beef, fresh butter lettuce, sliced tomato, onion, secret sauce on a milk bun these were delicious and huge! We tried the piri piri sauce and lemon and herb dressing which we also enjoyed. They have sweets and desserts too, and although we didn’t try, because we were full; the home made apple pie looks like a winner. Chargrill Charlie’s does catering as well if you’re keen to order a bunch of food for your office meeting, picnics or even private functions. When you arrive it may appear slightly overwhelming with so many people trying to get the Chargrill Charlie’s fix. But don’t fret, the service is easy. Take a number and wait your turn, service is extremely fast. They also have an app where you can earn store credit and even purchase Chargrill Charlie’s hoodies, hats and bags to feel like a part of the team.

30.07.2023 - 03:59Offering cafe food with an interesting menu, BTB are filling a gap in the market by offering dishes that are focused on the use of native Australian ingredients. Located in the stunning Harbourside suburb of Kirribilli just below the Sydney Harbour Bridge, hence ‘BTB’. Most of the seating is inside in a darkened space but full of customers happily enjoying their brekkie. We sit outside with our pram and puppy and efficiently served but the fun and friendly staff. We’ve visited twice in the last month, wanting to try as many things as possible! Our first dish was the Warrigal falafels, which were super moist inside with a nice crunchy exterior, served with native zaatar, lemon aspen yoghurt, heirloom tomato salad and Warrigal greens. Oh and don’t forget to order a side of potato scallops with malt vinegar. Another standout dish is the native cured salmon with lemon aspen mixed grains, macadamia miso cucumber

29.07.2023 - 19:59Kingswood is a small specialty coffee located in World Square (George St side) with a wooden facade and a huge visible la marzocco coffee machine. Plenty of customers hanging around enjoying their daily coffee (or like me, two). Kingswood roast their own coffee and serve the house blend for milk coffees, as well as a range of single origins for espresso and filter. The coffee is excellent and despite me not living in the city, I'll definately make a return visit. For the non coffee drinkers out there, Kingswood also do a signature chai, hot chocolate, tea and iced drinks. Since it is only small, the food menu is only small but they have some pastries and toasties for food on the go.

29.07.2023 - 16:49In this current iso climate, we’ve taken to looking forward to our takeaway meal to give a little reprieve from cooking. What could be better than Friday night pizza (or any night really)! Manoosh make both traditional Lebanese pizzas, folded pizzas, wraps, Lebanese sides and the traditional Italian sort of pizza. With stores in Enmore, Marrickville, Waterloo and Caringbah, there’s a good range of locations to get your Manoosh fix. Order online or over the food and get delivery or pick up yourselves. When deciding on a pizza, there’s traditional favourites like a Margherita and Hawaiian (amongst many others) or some modern styles which we tried, like the spicy prawn and chorizo, as well as the king prawn. The pizzas are great and have a nice light base, with super flavoursome toppings. Gluten free bases are available and there are also vegan and vegetarian options. Their specialty wraps allow you to choose your base, and your protein but on this visit we just opted for the traditional Lebanese zaatar bread. It had a generous slathering of zaatar and we absolutely loved this. Plenty of Lebanese sides are on the menu and we loved the crispy football-shaped Lamb Kebbeh, which comes as a five piecer serving. Some of the best we’ve eaten, a lovely moist meat ball deep fried and delicious. We also enjoyed the light and fluffy falafel, which worked perfectly with the garlic sauce. The garlic sauce is unreal. If you’d prefer, they also have Lamb Sambousik, crispy chicken, chicken wings and triple cheesy balls. We didn’t order dessert this time, but they have everyone’s favourite, the Nutella pizza, baklava and also rice pudding and ice cream. For delivery food or takeaway, it travels well, the sides even served in cardboard lidded foil trays, labelled clearly. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would 100 percent order again.

29.07.2023 - 06:10Ang tang We’ve been to Bang Tang before in its previous locations, and enjoyed it thoroughly, so of course we were happy to return. They’ve reopened in Orwell street, around the corner from it's old location in Potts Point. The restaurant has a nice contemporary fit out, with indoor and outdoor seating. The bright pink lighting is still a feature. We enjoyed the vibe of the new space, it had a great atmosphere and the staff were attentive. The modern Asian inspired restaurant has delicious food that is fresh and featuring flavours from Thailand, Japan, Burma and Vietnam. The food is great and sure to leave your tastebuds singing. We shared a number of tasty starters and fabulous mains. To start, the cigars are a delicious starter, a spring roll filled with glass noodles and packed full of flavour, the lemongrass is noticeable and works very well. The house made steamed dumplings Pork And Prawn Mousse with Japanese Scallop in House Chili Oil were very enjoyable and the parcels were a nice light dish to start. The rice paper rolls are super fresh, packed tightly with chicken carrot, herbs and served with a peanut dipping sauce. A really nice healthy option. The braised pork belly is a must order, it is roasted then slow cooked for four hours. The braising liquid is insanely good, with beautiful soy umami flavours, subtle star anise and spice. The fat on the pork is nicely rendered, it is gelatinous and silky. Add the roasted garlic and pepper sauce to this dish, this sauce enhances the pork to wow level. Another delicious and generously portioned dish was the Hokkien noodles with prawns and house made chilli jam and shaved salty yolk, another cracker with a bit of spice and good balance of flavour. “Trout Out” is a lovely fresh option, the Snowy Mountains smoke trout was delectable. With organic pecan wood, tamarind dressing, roasted rice, thin rice noodle, crushed peanut, fennel, kaffir lime, viet mint chilli. We had this with Jasmine rice. The food here is lovely, the ambience is fun, and you’ll most certainly enjoy a delicious meal. Be sure to check it out
