I make reservations a month to two months before our outings. However, we did not enjoy our experience last evening. Our server did not spend an appropriate amount of time at our table. We had to flag him down as he passed by to get items we needed. We had to wait 15 minutes for our server to take our order just for the appetizers. After the appetizers arrived, he finally took our order. This delay caused other customers who arrived after us to to get their food quicker. After we received our dishes- chicken Caesar salad and shrimp and grits, we were disappointed again. My shrimp and grits had diced deli ham with boiled shrimp. I have had this dish numerous times and it has never looked like this. As we were leaving, I spoke with the manager, who was fantastic and very apologetic for the negative experience. Because of her, we will be back.

We have seen how the Penkentenne has developed over that time and it has never lost it's mountain top restaurant appeal, not small but still...cosy and welcoming. The food is always good with a range of standard ski restaurant fare as well as Austrian speciality dishes; all reasonably priced. We always get a nice welcome (how do they recognise us out the many thousands they must see on a weekly basis? ; we will definitely be back next year :
