Headed up here for late lunch before hiking down, reasonably priced cable car (compared to Schilthorn) got us there.Still buzzing with lunchers when we got there, and I went for the soup of the day, a hearty bean veg number with sausage on the side; my friend opted for a salad and we ordered a Portion of cheese to round it out. Food overload as every portion was generous and good Quality. The grilled smoked sausage with the soup was a stand out, just right for a feed in the mountains.

Came in on a quiet Monday night, which Im informed is unusual for this bar. There was one waitress on the floor who seemed determined not to see us, so the barman eventually came over. The cocktail I had (rum, lime, ginger Kind of a gingerfied mojito was really refreshing, and I did enjoy the music (Lauren Hill over and over.... and the vibe. But wonder how they cope when its busy?

Took me 24 hours to get here from Australia, and I wanted an authentic, unpretentious dining experience on the first night close to where Im staying well, I got it! We were the first ones ushered into the more formal, but nonetheless cosy, room at the back with some views onto the lake. Service was warm from the start, and with a glass of Prosecco, I started to come alive again. The menu features swiss classics and Pizza (which you could also class as a swiss classic), and I enjoyed a fresh pile of salad leaves to start, followed by the Fischknusperli (fried fish pieces) they look like chicken Nuggets, but the lake fish inside is fabulously fresh, and the crust texture satisfyingly crunchy. I also tasted the vegetable Roesti (off an extensive selection of pimped out Roestis) and also found that very enjoyable in taste and texture. With a nice glass of chardonnay, the whole experience was a worthy start to my latest swiss adventure and I may even be back before I go back.

I chose this restaurant very carefully as it was my birthday, and my first time overseas in 2 and a half years (thanks Covid). I could not have chosen better this was my dream swiss restaurant in the heart of Zurich, really cosy, great service, it was the complete package. But its food that is most important to me, and neither myself or my 3 guests were disappointed. I had the barley soup to start then the entree portion of duck liver with salad. Both were terrific and the duck liver was plenty. My friends had respectively Wiener Schnitzel, Geschnatzlets with roesti, and Wild (game menu) all were served in traditional two portions, hearty and delicious food. For the quality and experience, I thought it was exceptional value for a special occasion dinner.

I lived in Armidale in 1980 when the Mun Hing opened, so this was a trip down memory lane. The dowdy exterior and the decor would suggest that we are still in the 80's, but with food this good and at these prices, who cares? It was a quiet Friday night just past, and the occupied tables were heaving with delicious looking food (country town classics) , with a large part going into containers, We ordered the Mongolian Lamb and Szechuan Chicken with some rice both generous portions, with the Mongolian lamb tender and tasty, and the chicken with a nice kick to it. We couldnt finish all the food thank goodness we didnt order entrees! Next time through Armidale, we will definitely visit again.

Was a bit tricky to find and had the place to myself on a quiet weekday night. The pho was already put together with perfect proportions of noodles, tasty broth and fresh herbs and bean sprouts. Oh and lovely quality meat. All I needed was fresh chill to really make it sing, and they had a really good one! For authentic comfort Vietnamese food, this hit the spot.

We stopped here especially based on the reviews and what a disappointment! This is basically a takeaway with a few tables and you choose from the window or take a menu at 9 Euros. We were craving some vietnamese of the authentic variety ie with fresh herbs, but that was sadly lacking with only the european chinese/vietnamese version on offer. The Nems were crispy tasty (and pretty oily as well), would have been great to wrap in lettuce with herbs and sauce, but that was not on offer. A noodle dish with minced chicken looked inviting but turned out to be a con. By the time it was microwaved, you saw the very low chicken to noodle ration, and only by adding chili fish sauce, did we get some flavour into it. Then a menu dish that turned out to be some sort of lemongrass gluggy sauce with chicken, with the citrus flavour suspiciously heightened so it did not capture the subtlety of this beautiful herb. This place appears to be situated in the middle of the takeout area (McDonalds, Subway et al) where it rightfully belongs, and do not go there expecting anything else.

My dad is a local in the area, and we were after some nice fish on the lake. He had not been here for years but we were not disappointed here for a recent Sunday lunch lovely bright room, with some view to the lake over the terasse (which is too cold at the moment! . Service was lovely, efficient and friendly. And the food was great. Mixed salad to start with, excellently dressed, but the star was the fried Eglifillet really nice batter encasing fresh white fillets, and accompanied by browned potatoes and a house made tartare sauce. The portion did not leave us wanting, but could not resist the Nesselrod after chestnut vermicelle with icecream, meringue cream. Even the mini portion was generous! Definitely on the list for my next visit to Zurich!
