Delicious fast casual worth a try if you’re in the footprint of the chain restaurant. Heard it was started by Hawaiian guys in Utah. They definitely brought welcome flavor to the state. Generous amount of food served line style, great prices and different size options. I tried their chicken teriyaki (sauce had depth, meat was tender) as well as their chicken katsu (crispy fried goodness). Macaroni side was great too, even if you don’t like macaroni salad the Hawaiian style is different. Overall a tasty and satisfying meal, stop by if you get the chance.

Grab a group of friends and enjoy some hotpot here! Lovely restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating options, metered street parking out front. You pick your soup base(s) and whatever you want (by the serving). Tell them what soup you want and order the rest from the app. Ingredients come out quickly and are fresh/high quality. There’s a sauce bar so you can create your own. There’s some snacks too but don’t fill up! The hotpot is the star of the show. Though we did come in on a random Sunday night and were surprised by an actual marital arts dancing show! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely err on the side of caution with the spice—hot is VERY HOT here. We still had to get our soup toned down after ordering the mild. Overall was a great splurge, would recommend and would definitely come back!

Great farmer’s market worth stopping by! Pretty big with three different sections full of vendors in a T shape. Mostly food and produce, didn’t see many personal care items or crafts. Only open for a few hours every Thursday—there was live music and a bustling crowd when I went. It’s conveniently located directly off the metro, and there’s plenty of free 2-3 hour street parking on the streets nearby. So very accessible! Just look for the street closed signs when you get there. Eat and enjoy!

Great coffee around Echo Park. The area feels chaotic but this shop is a nice reprieve. Lots of metered spots nearby (though it gets crowded . Tall ceilings and open space. No AC, so it can get hot. Little seating with uncomfortable stools and small tables. Has wifi. Wouldn’t want to work here for an extended period of time, but overall it’s a good coffee bar. Friendly staff and service, decent prices. Took me way too long to realize woodcat meant rabbit (or hare? . Very cute haha.

Come hungry because there’s PLENTY of delicious food to eat! We got the regular order and had some pickled side dishes to go with the BBQ meat that was cooked for us. The bulgolgi, pork belly, all of it was fantastic. Try the spicy and soy flavored options! (Spicy really isn’t spicy at all. The thick cut pork belly was fabulous in lettuce wraps. I especially loved the garlic sauce they provided! Kim chi was also great. Very happy to have stopped by with friends, hadn’t had Korean BBQ in a long time and Firepan did not disappoint!

Loved this place! We were lucky enough to get a patio table while it was nice outside (dog friendly! . The vibrant greenery was beautiful and a breath of fresh air. Our waiter was very kind and accommodating. Food came quickly and it was all delicious. We ended up splitting an eel roll (so tender! , a bowl of tonkotsu ramen (Corn and ginger garnishes were a fun combo. The broth was not rich and much lighter than other tonkotsus I’ve tried, which actually worked really well here , a salmon poke bowl (all the contrasting flavors and textures worked so well together! and a coffee bubble tea (honestly the boba tea was overkill, it was very sweet and we were very full on our way out

Was curious to try what was at one point the 4th best restaurant in the US according to Yelp. Gotta say, it was a solid choice for lunch! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting. Lots of seating, plenty of parking. Food came fast in generous portions at a decent price. The gyro plate was delicious. Meat was incredibly tender, probably the best I’ve ever had in a gyro. Falafel was fantastic as well. Their homemade tzatziki, baba ganoush, and hummus were excellent! Highly recommend you stop by.

Came with my Vietnamese friend and had a tasty time : good area, free garage parking nearby. Friendly staff and lots of seating—prices are fair for what you get. My friend mentioned that this is a north Vietnamese restaurant which you don’t see a lot of in the states. The pho has ginger in the broth, different meat, and doesn’t usually include sprouts/mint/basil garnishes (but they do here . It was delicious! The broth was hearty (even better if you add a dash of vinegar and the noodles were well cooked. There are also specialty dishes that are hard to find including a fabulous dish local to Hanoi. (Forgot what number. 70/80s? The meat was tender, savory and a little sweet. Overall good meal option

A fun and vibrant dessert shop open late in downtown LA. They specialize in waffles (their bubble waffles are most popular) loaded with ice cream and other toppings. The dessert is massive so I’d suggest splitting with a friend to save some money and calories. Tried the Dolly Dream and the waffle balanced out the sweetness pretty well. Cookie dough inside the ice cream was a fun surprise. Great combination of textures! Gets soggy though so eat quickly or order it in a basket.

Have had takeout a few times from sugar fish, overall consistently good quality. Easy and accessible to get when craving some sushi. Prices are as expected. Takeout box is a good deal when split between two people. Tasty pick me up.
