Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWe visited this restaurant on a Tuesday evening. We chose the three course menu which cost just under 20 Euros. The fish soup was very salty built tasted ok. The second course we chose was supposed to be a salmon lasagne. There was one piece of pasta and a few tiny pieces of fish. The sauce was very watery. It was not served with anything else. I noted that other diners who had chosen from this menu were all presented with food which had been cooked in similar terracotta dishes. The food was almost inedible. For desert I chose the lemon tart revisited. This consisted of a small glass which had biscuit crumbs in the bottom. The crumbs were topped with a watery lemon mouse mixture. My wife had an orange dish which cane is a small glass. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food is less than mediocre and it does not represent value for money. The only saving grace was that the red wine which my wife ordered was very nice.
We live locally and have always avoided the riverside restaurants in Agde as they always appeared to be a tourist trap, serving average food at greatly inflated prices. However, on Most Agde Restaurants Are Closed Day (aka Monday) we decided to try Mare Nostrum and were very pleasantly surprised. The dishes were well thought-out, with little twists to presentation and flavour that really made the dining experience something novel. The service was friendly and humorous, and the setting is of course superb. (As the sun went down a couple of fishing boats came past, leading to the restaurant bobbing a little, which might upset those who are extremely sensitive to motion sickness, but for most it would be barely noticeable). If you're wanting to eat in a riverside setting in Agde, I'd definitely recommend this place.
My wife and I had a good Dinner in this river-side Restaurant last week. Excellent position overlooking the River and first class old-fashioned and professional service by the owner Arthur and one assistant. The food was OK, (but in our opinion), somewhat 1970/80 style, which may not be of everyone liking! Interesting Wine List.
We enjoyed a lovely evening with good service and tasty food last night 16/04/2018. We shared some very tasty huitres then I enjoyed a beautiful duck dish while my husband ate a lovely fish dish. We both enjoyed our meal were too full for dessert but the coffee was lovely to finish with. Really enjoyed the night and think this was the best resaurant on the river bank in Agde.
We were told to go to a restaurant that turned out to be closed like several others along the canal. If the ones open, this looked like the best option. Our duck turned out to be pork and the beef steak was thin and tough although it was grilled as specified. These options were all good but reasonably average. The dessert on the other hand Chocolate Supplice was over the top rich and delicious and made up for the average food. The house rose was very nice and the decor bright and cheerful.
