My family had an amazing Christmas Eve dinner last night at Vixen?s Wedding! The ambiance is great, but food flavors were especially out of this world. I really enjoyed the Goan-fusion element, the chefs did a great job conveying the South Asian flavors ingredients in newer innovative ways.
Had big hopes and dreams for this restaurant but unfortunately it did not deliver. Before I delve into it I would first like to point out that the staff was amazing and did everything in their power to make it a positive experience. There was a worker there that was the hostess, the waiter, bartender and I?m willing to put money on the table that he helped the chef in the back as well. To that man, kudos. You were the backbone of that restaurant last night. We got therearound 8:20 and didn?t get our dinner until around 9:45. I was served first and my friend didn?t get her meal until maybe 10 minutes later. She ordered the mackerel (it was actually Texas red fish last night which we knew it would be) butshe couldn?t eat half of her meal because the fish was still raw. None of the food was that great, sad to say. I got a plate of the roasted root vegetables and the presentation made it look like you got an empty plate. They comped ourdrinks because of the long wait and comped my friends meal because it wasn?t cooked properly. I?m sure on a better night this restaurant can be much better. The best part was the butter and sourdough naan bread.
Overall it was a great experience. The food quality since our last visit had improved phenomenally. We were told there was a new chef. We will be visiting again.
I celebrated my birthday at Vixen's Wedding. My girlfriend took me. We had the tasting menu. The waiting staff was very friendly. The ambience was unique and very nice, but not overly formal. Most notably: I have some extensive allergies; the chef went out of his way to make me a dessert from scratch (which was not on ANY of the menus, mind you) and it was both very unique and delicious. Great birthday experience.
