Vautrot's Cajun Cuisine - Beaumont

I've been coming here for several years, I finally made it! I told my wife I wanted to try Vautrot's fears. She grew up in this area and she didn't know where it was! We had to go to Beaumont to get something and thought it was a good time to take lunch and in Vautrot. We arrived at the opening time and we sat right away. The interior had a very nice ambience with tables and stands. Our waitress was on site and took our drinks and appetizer orders. For appetizers we ordered the Fried Pickles and Alligator Bites. For our lunch order we both ordered the Emerick's Sampler plates. The Emerick's Sampler comes with a cup of seafood gumbo and a cup of Crawfish Ettouffee, also two fried Catfish fillets, fried shrimps, fried oysters and fried Crawfish tails. You get a salad with your choice of dressing and another side, and I took the onion rings. My wife had Hush Puppies for her side. Our waitress brought bottles of Ranch to the fried pimples for her salad, a bottle of tarter sauce and a bottle of cocktail sauce. The fried pickles were really good and fried for perfection like the Alligator Bites. The Gumbo was really great with a dark rich Roux and was thick as good Gumbo should be! The ettouffee was just as good as the gumbo, the taste was also great!!! The catfish, shrimp and oysters were all fried for perfection, not cooked at all! Our waitress was very attentive and often checked us. Everyone was very friendly and faint. We'll go back so you can bet on it! I think next time I'm just going for this really big gumbo! You have seafood and chicken and sourcing gumbo when you ask yourself. I recommend an attempt if you're somewhere in the area. If you get nothing else, get Gumbo!!!

The absolutely best Étouffée and rubber bears in Texas! I've been here for over twenty years and it's still unmatched. Living in Europe is a must on my restaurant list when I visit.

I have a tip about this restaurant from a local. Fantastic service and food was incredible! Great portions and very fair prices. The onion rings for starters were a foreplay for what should come. I ordered a lot to eat there and take half home. The frog legs were the best and biggest I've ever had, and I'm joining 70. When I was a kid, I ran with my father and uncle. They were never like that.

What a neat little place in the middle of nowhere. I loved the atmosphere and our sever was great! Our food was delicious and they are definitely on to something by having their cakes on display as you walk in. We typically never order a dessert. We were stuffed from our meals but did order desert to go bc the cakes looked too incredible to pass on. They in fact were incredible! 10/10 would recommend!!
