Capers Restaurant - Belleville

The food has done it again! A couple visited this establishment recently and were impressed by the delicious cuisine. They discovered this hidden gem while searching for restaurants online. They were greeted warmly in a friendly atmosphere with tasteful decor. If you're looking for a sophisticated man cave, this is the place to be. The woman ordered a fish taco which was excellent, despite her usual aversion to seafood. The man tried a burger made with local beef and was captivated by the rich and flavorful taste. They highly recommend this restaurant and give it 5 stars. Additionally, they noticed someone admiring them but couldn't resist the temptation of the food.

True to my word, I went back. Got a fried chicken sandwich that was red and translucent in the center. Very politely asked for a refire and was treated to hearing the chef argue and complain about it. The server was super professional but I was very turned off and I think that's probably it for me.

Lovely little spot in downtown Belleville (one of the few right now as the downtown is in the process of being revitalized). I ate here on a Friday evening. We lucked out with the last table on the patio. They had live music inside, which you could enjoy outside thanks to the outdoor sound system. We started with a beer lots of local/Ontario beverages on the menu to choose from. As an appetizer we enjoyed the grilled naan with (what I think was homemade) hummus bruschetta. Only suggestion I'd have is to serve with a little more naan so we could scoop up all that yummy dip! My boyfriend and I then both ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It was perfection! Served on a beautiful brioche bun, and topped with slaw. Side dish was French fries some of the best ones I've had in a long time. All of this was provided to us by a fantastic, attentive, friendly server. Highly recommend and would love to visit again next time I'm in the Belleville area.

Friend recommended this place in downtown Belleville and it didn't disappoint. We started with the meat charcuterie board. Meat was excellent and it came with lots of veggies too. I ordered the lamb pasta and my husband the salmon. Both were cooked and seasoned to perfection. We ended the meal with the strawberry shortcake. All and all a terrific experience.

We'd been here before for lunch and it was fabulous, so we were eager to return for dinner. Hard to believe, but it was even better! Fantastic foodie experience! The crab stuffed mushroom are a terrific upgrade on the standard pub fare with better ingredients. The ahi tuna and avocado is a perfect balance of flavours and textures sooooo good! The mussels were very nicely done as well not overcooked, beautifully flavoured. The risotto special with fresh peas was stunningly good, and I've had a lot of risottos. Also amazing was the vegetarian gnocchi every bite a perfect sampling of summer in your mouth. The rack of lamb was really good perfectly cooked with a great mushroom jus. The sea scallops were also marvellous perfectly cooked, fabulously accompanied to match flavours and textures. The duck breast was (again! amazing perfectly cooked, so flavourful. Dessert was also great, but by then I had kind of max ed out. The wine list is small, but I wish i had known that they have a specialty selection of wines available which is fantastic. Just remember to ask about it. Absolutely will be back!
