Service was friendly but food not that great. Popadoms were of the pre packaged shop variety not freshly made. Chicken jalfrezi was ok but obvious the chicken had been heated in a microwave and not the best quality. Doubt I'd return.
You must try this indian restaurant if you want value for money, Large portions and super quality food, Extremely friendly waitress. 100% recommendably. PS: Try the indian White wine Chenin Blanc.
I ate many times Indian food i house of my Indian friends and it was tbe first time when I decided to try it in restaurant. I and my friends really fell in love! Food was delicious, tasted like in India! Our waitress Shilla was so kind and nice person (the only one there who speak in inglish), she translated for us menu and help with choosing alcohol. If I will visit Berlin, I want back there!
I am a native indian and have been looking for a place all over berlin for a place that would satisfy my hunger for 'real' indian food. I live around this cozy indian restaurant in Walther-Schreiber-platz and happen to bump into this place. The best bump ever! The food is authentic, the service is very friendly and the prices are affordable :)I would definitely recommend anyone looking for some excellent indian food to take a walk down walther-schreiber-platz
I'm in this area of Berlin fairly frequently ( And curry being my favourite food) You can imagine my excitement when I discovered this new Indian Restaurant! What I noticed first is that the Restaurant has a seperate dining area for smokers, Very strange as I thought this had been banned throughout Europe! We ordered our food, Communication was fairly difficult to be honest, My ' Pigeon German is not great, The waiters wasn't either, His English was incomprehensible! So naturally there was going to be some problems, To start we all decided to have.. yep you guessed it...Popadoms! Washed down with Kingfisher beer, Popodoms arrived smashed in bits!!! Kingfisher was from a bottle!! Not draft as you would expect. So we ordered our food, This is the only Indian curry house I have ever eaten in around the world that I know that Dosen't serve Bombay Aloo, Alobi Gobi, In fact I think the staff had never heard of it! Plain rice is all they serve! Our food arrived, So more drinks it was! I decided to have a glass of house red, This is not possible, The waiter kept saying '0.2' 0.2, No idea what she meant so 0.2 it was! Along came a carafe of wine!!!The food itself was ok, But I do find in Germany spicey curried don't exist, No matter what you order they all pretty much taste the same, This was no exception. We ate all our food. Asked for the bill, All pretty much ok Apart from each individual smashed Popodoms was charged as a complete Popodom, Tried to argue the case, But to be perfectly honest we were fairly exhausted with the communication fiasco, So we coughed up and left.Probably would return with the 'Hope everything may have improved!
