Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónBoston Tea Party is located on the busy corporation street opposite the rather beautiful red brick law courts. It's a great location and quite often at full capacity. There's several areas to sit, if your wanting to work there's benches, if your going to be around for a while they also have booths. One of the main reasons I come here is for the buzz! BTP (Boston Tea Party) have a all day breakfast available and typically brunch type dishes. On this particular occasion I had avocado and humous on toasted rye topped with poached eggs and red chillies. It's not a huge portion but the rye bread certainly does fill you. The avocado and humous actually make a surprisingly good combo which is actually moreish. The red chillies added a slight kick which I also enjoyed. The poached eggs were also great and cooked to the correct time. The coffee here is good but nothing special. Something I would expect from a typical canteen. The cakes and baked goods are fantastic and there's always a gluten free option available. If your looking for a quick breakfast fix and enjoy the hustle and bustle of neighbours get down to the BTP. They also now have a branch in harborne!
Visited here last week for the millionth time for brunch with a friend. It was a Saturday and crazily busy but the staff were still lovely and food was a decent time to wait for. I had the superfood salad which was really yummy and a ginger ale which had the prettiest bottle (I kept it for a flower holder). For dessert I had a scone with lashings of cream and jam with an earl grey tea. It was around four quid which is pricey but worth it for how tasty it was.
4 hours later through breakfast and lunch I sat, I drank tea and worked on my assignment. What a busy place today, meetings and parties etc. 2nd visit for me and again no skimmed milk just whole or soya which was not suitable for me. However, I stayed and enjoyed granary toast with jam and butter at breaki and sausage and lentil soup for lunch which was filling and very flavoursome it was served with huge wedges of fresh granary bread and butter a hearty lunch for a 'winters ' day. Yummy! I love the fact you can help yourself to water from the fountain, more places should do this! Nice touch. Thank you guys.
Yesterday was the opening day of @BTPcafes so it's no coincidence that I trekked all the way across town to see if they are as good as they say. First off, there is likely to be updated review as no-one is expected to get it right on day one. However, this is what they have got right: Space. There is loads of it and I don't the stuff on Star Trek. BTP have gone for the trad diner look; all red leather booths and benches, loads of them. If there is a group, there are long sofas or large tables, for meetings smaller booths for 4 or for working on your own there are small tables. Coffee is hot. I don't really ask for much more. The only reason I have an Americano (it's not on the menu, I think they call it House Coffee, which I much prefer! in coffee shops is because I like my coffee hot to sip whilst working and whereas I have filter at home, it gets too cold in coffee shops. Plus, this being day one, it was cold but I'm sure the heating will be adjusted once they settle in. Wi-Fi worked first time. Food. And then there's the food, all baked and cooked on the premises. Not one for sandwiches or cold food generally (except cheesecake, see below I like a cafe situation when hot food is available. No doubt I'll be returning for lunch or more likely one of my two favourite meals of the day, brunch! Apart from hot sandwiches, burgers and salads there is the all-day-breakfast; possibly the 3 finest words when said together. Eggs or bacon every which way are up for grabs plus kedgeree, porridge, scotch pancakes and a plethora of kiddie friendly meals. Cake. Yes this is a separate section (regular readers won't be surprised . There is a huge selection of cakes and many of them are affordable every day treats (a few for Saturday afternoons . They lay their brownies out on huge trays, no dainty cake holders for the BTP guys. I'm not one to ordinarily have cheesecake in the middle of the day (on a school night too! but being the self proclaimed international cheesecake expert, oh, go on then. The cheesecake looks delightful, made as an individual round portion, enough for two and yes I did share with the BF, It's fluffy and light with a contrasting weighty digestive base. It felt like a very British, in fact West Country, cheesecake with it's heavy reliance on fluffy, double cream. Happy staff. The coffee maybe the best in the land, the cakes may be made to my taste and even the brunch may be served super quick but there's only one thing that makes me go back and that's service with a smile and a joyous lack of coffee shop pretentiousness; BTP simply aim to please and I look forward to enjoying their warm hospitality long after opening day. All in all, I extend a warm welcome to the south west's litte chain, Boston Tea Party to Birmingham. Long may you keep us warm, fed and happy.
Looking for food in evening and happend to be around Corporation Street. I suggested this place to my friends. I have been here fpr breakfast but haven't tried anything else on menu. Walked up to here and we thought it was closed as there was no one inside. I've been here twice and it's always buzzing. Went in to ask and turns out it was open (should've read the times on door) Grabbed menu at the front and found a spot to sit. Menu is simple to understand. I never had burger from here and wanted to try the chicken one. One of my friend went for breakfast which they serve all day, and the other a beef or lamb burger not sure. Being the only people there was great, got to ask for suggestions of drinks and teas from staff when ordering, and didn't feel like we have to rush because of queue.I got a glass of fresh orange juice Food arrived in no time. The chicken burger was AMAZING. The flavour was just too good, you can tell it was marinated well. Chicken was tender, bun was wholemeal which was soft and fresh. Everything on menu is made from scratch and you can tell. Coleslaw was so good and fries were crispy. Both of my friends was their first time in BTP and they loved their food. We even got a scone and tea after meal which was so good. Walked out very happy and full. Would definately come back here again. Now I have to debate what to get when I next visit this place, burger or breakfast.
