I never ever not finish my food or if I am too full to eat it, I pack it to go but this dish was very nasty. The flavours did not mesh well and the dish had ketchup (a no no for pad thai). People at my table felt so bad for me, they ended up sharing their food so I could have something to eat. I thought I could not go wrong with pad thai but I am very wary now to order pad thai at a new place and may stick with rice dishes so I don't get disappointed. Upon seeing my barely touched and unfinished dish, the owner/main waitress asked if she could pack it to go for me. No thank you. The restaurant is located far away from the city (was out for a cottage trip) and looked like it had so much potential. I expected this thai place to be authentic (and as someone pointed out funnily, the name of the resto has the word authentic lol) as the main owners and workers were Thai but alas it wasn't. The only positive thing I can said is the rice and main meat dishes were ok.
We stopped at this restaurant for lunch on our way to Algonquin. It was around 11am when we arrived, and we were greeted by a lady who was most likely the owner. After seating ourselves and looking through the menu, she returned from the kitchen and informed us that the special of the day was red curry chicken for $14.99. We all decided to order it. However, when the food arrived, we were not overly impressed. The red curry chicken was mediocre in taste and the portion size was small, with only half a portion of rice and three slices of cucumber.
I must say I was somewhat skeptical because of the 2 1/2 stars review, but we were very impressed with the entrees that we ordered for the 3 of us! At first, we thought that the portions were small, but each entree was packed tightly in the bowls. We left feeling very satisfied! The eggrolls were not at all greasy and served on a bed of cabbage...the mango salad was so fresh and very tasty. Our entrees included yellow curry chicken, pad Thai, ginger chicken, and a vegetable beef dish.. all delicious with very unique flavors! Only one server, but he did an awesome job and the tables were quite full! We will definitely return to this unique restaurant in the lovely town of Huntsville!
They had a 59 dollars dinner option which was suggested by the waitress. It turned out to be the best Thai combination. I loved the ambiance and location of the place. Waitress was really helpful and curtious. It wasn't rushy. Excellent place for Thai craving
I'm not sure what happened, but the service was seriously disappointing during my recent visit to this restaurant. The portion sizes have also gotten smaller. I ordered pad Thai with chicken and tofu, but I only received tofu in my dish. When I brought it up to the server, she argued with me saying that I had ordered tofu pad Thai. She seemed confused about all of our orders, as there were five people at our table. I have been to this location countless times before, but this was the only time I had a negative experience.
