Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónAppreciated such an exceptional service-friendly, helpful and efficient. The food were all beautifully served, and overall was tasty. However, the arancini was a little too dry and insufficient sauce, pizza base was a little too thin, and the gnocchi was a little too rich that we couldn’t finish it. We did enjoy our night though.
Pizza plus pasta plus pannacotta perfectly proportioned Italian meal? That’s what we went with on this visit to Colle Rosso <br/ .<br/ Our order:<br/ malloreddus al Ragu di Manzo, $28 Sardinian short pasta with beef ragout and truffle in a cherry tomato sauce<br/ porchetta pizza, $24 mozzarella, pork belly, caramelised onions, shaved parmesan, truffle oil<br/ pannacotta alla Fragola, $15 homemade strawberry pannacotta with chocolate sauce and strawberry pearls<br/ <br/ I enjoyed every mouthful of every dish even the chocolate sauce (not normally too keen on chocolatey stuff)! I have no hesitation in recommending this place for some quality Italian food. It’s not the most convenient place for me to dine at due to the location (relative to where I live) and dinner only hours, but worth making the effort once in a while, especially when you can get 50% off thanks to The Fork Festival. The festival originally ended 9th Feb, but has now been extended until Sat 29 Feb get booking!
We had a pleasant evening here on a quiet Sun night in November. <br/ <br/ The place was about half full when we arrived at 7pm. There were only two staff members on duty, so it took awhile to catch their attention for our orders to be taken But once that was accomplished, things flowed smoothly. The dishes came out quickly and in the correct order, with no long waiting between courses. The maitre d and her assistant were efficient, polite and helpful.<br/ <br/ We shared a selection of dishes between five of us, including salads, pizzas, arancini balls, gnocchi and calamari. Everything was fresh and tasty and served in generous portions. The food was prepared to a high standard, and nicely served on stylish white crockery. Everyone enjoyed their meals.<br/ <br/ After our $50 loyalty discount from the newly rebranded “TheFork” booking site, we paid a modest $121, and that included two large bottles of sparkling mineral water. Excellent value for money in these desperate economic times. And in a nice touch to end the evening, after we’d paid our bill, an offer was appended to the bottom of our receipt, to dine there again within two months and receive a 20% discount. This is the first time that I’ve seen such an offer, so congrats to Colle Rosso on this world first! If we lived in Bris, we would have taken it up, but sadly we do not, although we passed it onto friends who do live there, and I’m sure that they will use it.<br/ <br/ The only downside to all this positivity was the rather noisy nature of the venue. There are no carpets or noise absorbers, the furniture is wooden, and there’s plenty of glass, making for a loud environment, even when only half full. I should say, though, that as the evening wore on, and the place emptied out, it became quieter and more relaxed.<br/ <br/ Toilets are down a flight of stairs just to the side of the entrance, but there’s no signage from within the restaurant to tell you where they are. There are separate male and female facilities and they’re reasonably clean and well stocked, although the 1980s style hand dryer is in need of an upgrade or should be replaced with paper towels.<br/ <br/ As we were visiting from Syd, we took an uber from our hotel in Felix Street in the city, which cost just under $10 each way, but it seemed to me like a quiet part of town, where finding a parking wouldn’t be too much of a problem.<br/ <br/ Overall, an excellent, well run restaurant with top quality food, fast and friendly service and clean toilets. The noise levels though could be a problem.
A nice place to dine in, however wait times are a tad long. Also found that the ravioli was a bit rich- the sauce just tasted like melted butter.
Have not been back over three years so took the advantage of the Fork’s deal of 50% off food bill to have dinner in a group of three last night. Needless to say, menu has been changed slightly since my last time but we can still remember its signature half metre pizza broad so ordered the Alla Pala with Salmone Affumicato Prochetta with additional paste dish of Spahatti ai Frutti di Mare. It took reasonable time frame to have the first dish of pasta on the table. It presented very well with plenty mussel surround the main stacks of spaghetti. Taste was very good thanks for the lobster bisque) with generous portions of prawns and squids. Next came the half metre broad, the two different fillings of pizzas in front of us was spectacular. Only these dishes fed us with full stomach and the total bill was only $44.00, which was a bargain. <br/ <br/ Nov 15, 2015 Rating 4/5 <br/ Had a $50 voucher from DMMI and tried to explore this award-winning Italian restaurant. After we parked our car in the undercover car park and walked up to the entrance, the little waiting area for Take-Away orders attracted my gaze. On the other hand, the features of red color set-up also gave me an exciting feeling for this dinner. In addition, the warm welcoming greetings from all the wait-staff started this nice dining experience. We ordered their famous Calamari Fritti and Seared Scallops for entrees. The culinary skill on deep-frying was so good that there was not even one drop of oil left on the paper which holding all the calamari in the basket. The crispy Prosciutto perfectly acted as the crunchy element for scallop dish. Well done. The main that we ordered were the half meter pizza Alla Pala) with two flavour and the Linguini with Moreton Bay Bug. Doubtless, the pizza was good with thin base, however, the linguini beat the renowned pizza as the hero of the day. The whole dish brought me an unforgettable memory of what a fabulous linguini dish should be. Proteins were generous, lobster bisque formed the nice sweet base of seafood stock and the al dente linguini dish was well balanced with touch of garlic and chili. 'Thank you, chefs ', I highly recommend this restaurant and definitely return for the risotto, pork belly and wagyu oxtail.
