Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónIn the course of the years basil has left the hill in terms of quality and culinary experience. Previously one of my favorite Italian spots...
The 3 stars is an average between the quality of food and reception. actually, the right answer would be 2 and a half. Last Sunday, 1. Day of the year of the gregorian calendar, we were a party of 3 adults and 4 children plus a baby on a stroller) celebrating a birthday. Reservation was made in advance. Food was generally very good, but as we got the ordered desserts, we were missing. as asked, the participants reply was “oh! I forgot! Do you still want it?” when I drank my cappuccino, the same participant began to wipe the table. *i asked him if I could finish it without being expelled, and I was not very kindly said “I need this table!”. This is the perfect way for basil to start the year with the left foot!*ps.: we had to stack the dishes after the main course to make room for dessert...
Together with friends and colleagues. It doesn't look impressive from the outside. They also have a B-rating. I wouldn't have chosen this place because of these things. But I was with someone who only eats kosher food and recommended it. Basil is located in the heart of Crown Heights, a strongly Jewish colonized area, although very diverse overall. My friends and I ordered some appetizers and salads to share. We had a mixed green salad with citrus vinaigrette, arugula and beet salad (especially of the day), cauliflower in caramelized carrots and basilries. Then we ordered a mushroom soup and mushroom pizza (the olives on it). They received a food request for pizza without cheese. It was delicious. The food tasted fresh, was nicely plated and had good flavors. Food is on the pricier side, but because of the area and quality of food it was worth. I was pleasantly surprised. At the end we ordered Dessert. I ordered a Dulce de Leche cheesecake and tried my girlfriend cream roar next to a hot cup of camel tea. Very nice. After we ate, we sat and talked for a while. The staff didn't throw us out. Our waitress was very attentive all the time. It was also cool to experience a Hanukka candle lighting as soon as the sun was set for Day 3 by Hanukkah. People in the restaurant started singing songs after prayer. At that time, the restaurant had a beautifully diverse group of people there (Black, Jewish, Asia, Hispanic and White) Gotta loves NYC and especially BROOKLYN! I have some suggestions for improving the restaurant: The seats feel strange and tight in certain areas. the dishes and tables could be cleaner. The bathroom was decent and clean. That was important and encouraged me to return at a later time. Overall, I give this place a solid 4 and would recommend it.
Was there with my daughter on Saturday night and was super busy, but was very impressed by the fast service we received, although the place was busy the food came within minutes! Thank you
