Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI ordered a half rack of dry ribs with a loaded baked potato, which was a generous portion and extremely satisfying. My wife opted for the Jumbo Pulled Pork Sandwich with scattered hashbrowns, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our oldest daughter ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork nachos and our youngest daughter chose a regular pulled pork sandwich with a baked potato. The food was delicious and portion sizes were generous, causing us to leave with full stomachs. The locals seemed to frequent the restaurant and the staff were attentive and accommodating. It was a perfect stop to break our journey back to St. Louis and we were happy to have discovered this gem in Burnsville, MS.
My group and I stopped at Pappy's on our way home from Alabama on Sunday afternoon around 1. I was in the mood for BBQ and had read good reviews about the place. When we arrived, the staff was friendly. However, we were informed that they only offered a buffet on Sundays. Despite my initial craving for BBQ, we decided to go ahead with the buffet option. For around $10 per plate, we were able to enjoy a selection from the salad bar, a drink, and dessert. The salad bar consisted of basic ingredients like iceberg lettuce, cheese, peppers, diced tomatoes, and imitation bacon bits. The main dishes on the buffet were fried chicken strips and ham, rather than BBQ as expected from a BBQ joint. I had to request BBQ sauce separately as it was not readily available. The setup felt more like a cafeteria than a buffet, which was disappointing. The dessert options of peach cobbler and chocolate cupcakes were decently tasty and moist. The standout dishes were the fried green tomatoes and the friendly service. Overall, while the food was a bit underwhelming, the service and certain dishes were enjoyable.
