Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónThis restaurant is fantastic. I am delighted that it has been taken over by new owners who have maintained its original charm. The Big 6 has been my go-to spot for 22 years, and I am pleased that they have kept it unchanged. Best of luck to the new owners and a happy retirement to the previous owners who have been there for over 35 years. Cheers, Fridge. (The photo with the car keys is a reminder that I can now enjoy 5 pints at my local without worrying about driving home after just one.)
This pub is a terraced house on a street. It is cosy with real fires and you can take your dog or cat in. I used to drink in here when at the School across the road and recently called in and it’s exactly as I remembered it. Please don’t ever change as it’s perfect
I am a member of CAMRA and really wanted to visit this pub and try some of their ales. We fell in love with it from the moment we opened the door, the smell took us back to the old days of how pubs used to be. Lots of rooms with fires and a real olde worlde feel and charm to the place. A greta selection of ales and the staff and locals extremely friendly. Dogs were in abundance too! Definitely worth a visit to see how a pub should be!
If you ever hanker after a place where people go to have a few drinks and a chat, not distracted by TV, Juke boxes and families having a meal, this is the place. Situated in the middle of a row of terraced houses off the beaten track, you would NEVER find it if you didn't know it was there. I believe its basically 2 terraced houses knocked into one, there are several rooms, no vast open plan shed. Each room having tables with banquette seating and stools. It is utterly charming and harks back to a bygone era, but not in a nostalgic reproduced or preserved in aspic way, it just is what it is. They have a nice selection of rotating beers, and you get to try a real hodge podge if you are brave enough. The closest thing to a meal you will get is a packet of pork scratchings The best thing is, and long may it stay this way, is that it is always seems to be busy when I go, there is a regular in and out of people. This is a place you talk about and take people to to experience something that most young people have never experienced or older people have forgotten
I recently tried out The Big 6 for the first time with some friends and was initially unsure of its location. Nestled in the middle of a row of terraced houses, The Big 6 could easily be mistaken for just another residence. However, once inside, I was pleasantly surprised to find a layout resembling a terraced home with various rooms for dining and drinking. The beer garden located across a back street was a nice touch. The restaurant offers a great selection of real ales and has a welcoming atmosphere.
