Original Joe's - Kensington - Calgary

The service we received today was exceptional and really enhanced our dining experience. The server was attentive without being intrusive.

It was my daughter's 16th birthday with her friends and the energy and service was absolutely amazing!!!

Server was so grateful she managed to provide us the best comfortable seat and later change for a better seat . Food drinks ambience music everything was good.

As regular diners at this restaurant on a weekly and monthly basis, we were extremely disappointed with our recent experience. It appears that the quality of service has been declining, which is unfortunate considering this is one of the few places in Kensington that offers a pub-style menu and atmosphere. Our server started off by bringing us the wrong drink orders, and it only went downhill from there. Both our appetizer and main course orders were incorrect as well. Despite our attempts to have the mistakes corrected, our server seemed disinterested and difficult to track down. Eventually, the appetizer was returned to the kitchen but came back to us with cold jalapeños thrown on top - even though we had originally requested them. The server also didn't seem to know the daily drink specials and had to remake our drinks multiple times. Additionally, they input the wrong main course for my spouse, leaving them with sides to eat while I had to eat alone. Despite speaking to the manager about our frustrations, they seemed to misunderstand and we were left feeling unheard. Eventually, a new server stepped in and took a meal off our bill, but by that point, we were fed up with the whole ordeal and left feeling thoroughly disappointed. Overall, a very disappointing dining experience.

We arrived for dinner at 4:30 pm, as it was the only reservation available before 7:30. There were a few staff members working, but our server rarely came to our table. We had to flag down someone else to bring us the check. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was pleasant. One suggestion I have is for the restaurant to consider adding changing tables in the bathrooms, especially since they offer a kids menu. We had a baby with us and had difficulty finding a place to change them. This made it even more important for us to receive the check promptly so we could take care of our baby and cut our visit short.
