Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI 've admired and enjoyed eating at Cashion 's for many years. The food has consistently been creative and delicious; the servers knowledgeable and pleasant. Things have clearly changed I had brunch with (4) friends on a recent Sunday. I realize there is new management and Ms. Cashion is no longer involved. That 's not only regrettable, it 's also quite obvious. The food was pedestrian, at best. Tasteless scrambled eggs and boring potatoes. There was no bread served, at all. The unconcerned waitress simply said there was a delivery problem with no apology or attempt to compensate. I ordered a lemon/poppy side order instead and it too was not particularly good, despite costing more than $4. The Cashion 's of old would have provided a basket with a wonderful variety of delicious muffins and/or bread. The service, as alluded to above, wasn 't rude but certainly wasn 't remotely pleasant or engaging. Perhaps it 's only a brunch issue, but I doubt I 'll be returning anytime soon. I also feel I should let my fellow Cashion 's fans know about how drastically things have changed before they show up and are greatly disappointed.
I judge restaurants by the strength of permanence of its meals. Will you remember what you ate there 5 days later, 5 months later? Will you crave to eat it again? Will the thought of those flavors consume your hungry time? The meals from Cashion's place absolutely do. Her impeccable roast chicken (in my opinion one of the hardest things to cook well) her creative and flavorful pork dishes, the succulent Veal Sweetbreads, the impossibly tender Bison filet: I think about them all the time--The perfectly balanced flavors, and the unforgettable way they dance on my tongue. I've eaten at 99% of the restaurants in Washington and this one is my favorite because it never leaves my mind for more than a few days.
