Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónThe service is naturally perfect, and the ambiente is very beautiful. we had the cheese plate that was beautiful. my son had the ravioli and loved her. I had the softshell crab and thought it should have been crispy instead of asggy as it was unfortunately. I had the flounder and felt I could have made him home. we had the cheesecake and the chocolate for dessert and both were absolutely delicious. we're coming back.
We went to Oakleaf to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and are so glad we did! We were planning on ordering the chef’s spontaneous tasting menu. It was graduation and Mother’s Day weekend, and it turned out the chef had taken the tasting option off the dinner menu since it was going to be so busy—but he made it for us for the occasion! Very kind and not at all expected. But we are so glad he did because it was absolutely delicious. It included 5 courses and 3 mini-courses and we got to try homemade ravioli, duck, and steak, among other things. Everything was cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. They sent out a candle and a little note with dessert, which was a thoughtful touch. We will definitely be back—soon! The one thing I noticed that could be improved is the ability to make instant online reservations, like through Resy or OpenTable or a similar software. Right now you fill out a form and then they get back to you via email to let you know if they have the time you want available.
Excellent food, and honestly for a very good price. highly recommend for a celebration we went for a graduation dinner. everything is very fresh!
Incredible restaurant which has become one of my top choices for an upscale dinner. Highlights included the lil biscuits with truffle cheese and ham, tempura mushrooms, and zabaglione dessert. The menu changes frequently and is always fresh. The wine list is diverse and our server was fairly knowledgeable about pairings. The only thing I felt was missing were a few more old-world wines, particularly reds. The majority were from Napa Valley and, while they were clearly of high quality, the European selection was a bit sparse. However, this is only a personal preference :)Service was excellent--unobtrusive but attentive and always within eyesight. The place was very clean and the ambiance was wonderful. The chairs are super comfy and the entire place has a casual but upscale farm-to-table vibe very classy WITHOUT being stuffy in the slightest (as a bar manager myself, with all of my silly ~wine opinions~, I was probably the most pretentious person in there.. Oakleaf is the perfect choice for any special occasion, or if you're just in the mood for something a little more creative and fancy. It's clear that the entire staff takes pride in maintaining a beautiful restaurant. For two people with entrees, apps, and dessert, our bill was about $100 (not including the bottle of wine) which I consider a great deal for the quality of food and service!
My wife and I dined at Oakleaf on a Tuesday evening, and the restaurant (as well as Carrboro) were very busy. We were seated a couple minutes earlier than our reservation and the service was spot on. The presentation and quality of the food was excellent and we enjoyed every morsel. My wife ordered a Caesar salad and some scallops, while I ordered deviled eggs and a Halibut entree. The Halibut was unlike any preparation I have ever had before and it was fantastic. The Mud Candy or vegetable of the day was a combination of broccolini, bok choy, garlic and it was delicious! This was our first time at Oakleaf and we look forward to our next visit.
