The Labworth - Castle Point

The restaurant changed its name to Savor and has been closed for many months due to construction work on the sea wall. It re-opened on 29/5 and having previously been regular customers we made a booking. We were looking forward to returning and all appeared well upon arrival, however, after being served a drink and having our order taken we were in for a long wait. It took an hour for the starters to be served and a further hour for the mains to arrive. The reason for the long wait was that they were a waitress short but fail to see how this could be given as the excuse for such a long wait for food. Whilst appreciating that the restaurant had only just opened again it has a limited amount of tables to serve so the service was not acceptable. Although the food was very nice the portion size was small for the price. I think £8.95 for a creme brulee in a ramekin dish rather excessive! Also, I do not agree with adding 10% service charge, I believe a tip should be discretionary. We have always really liked and enjoyed this restaurant but a bill of £240 for 4 without drinks is too much to spend often.

Great place to eat staff friendly.The food is well presented and delicious. It’s really nice to sit and look out over the sea whilst eating and drinking.

Honestly one of the nicest, if not THE nicest breakfasts I’ve had in a long long time… sausage, bacon, black pudding, hash browns, simple ingredients, cooked really, really well. Lovely

Lovely brunch in lovely location right on sea front and the customer service was over and above, would highly recommend

This was our first time visiting and we were very pleased we chose this lovely restaurant. The decor and ambiance were perfect and the staff were outstandingly friendly and helpful. The food was very nice with a varied selection of dishes. A lovely experience, so much so that we considered the optional service charge too low and asked for the bill to be increased to reflect a lovely evening out. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant.
