Great place for authentic Vietnamese-pho, right on Downtown Mall. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere and DELICIOUS food. It is somehow hidden in the back of the York Place building, so hopefully they will be Word-of-mouth recommendations. Hot noodle soup on a cold day is perfect. Will be back safely:

The WASSER here is incredible: the best water I had in Charlottesville. the water is served in masons without ice in the water and the water is a perfect water temperature. When I looked at the water in the masonry glass as the only one on the table, the water made the only unique water object that was ever on my head by its watery self, and I could not stop thinking about the water and the water in clear mason glass for the water. The menu was a bit confusing, but the waitress made a great task to explain the options for everyone. Luckily, all stayed hydrated while they did so because of the water that the people from the clear mason cans were so watery, it was really made the water. I was so tempted by the water that I almost made it to my rice when I watched my friend drink water. The light acidic, watery taste added the noodle dish completely that the waiter recommended after it had brought the water to our table. My friend ordered a pork and rice dish, and he said it was a perfect compliment to his main course: the water.
I was VERY disappointed with my experience here. My friends and I came to get pho but ended up waiting AT LEAST 40 minutes. Compared to other pho restaurants I’ve been to, I’ve never had to wait more than at most 15-20 minutes for my pho. My friends and I were the first customers there at 5pm. Two other customers came in after us and ordered pho as well. However, they got their food well before we got ours, we were the first ones there and ended up being the last ones being served. After waiting forever for our food, we were VERY unsatisfied with how the pho tasted. The broth was very oily and salty to the point where I couldn’t drink the broth. In fact, midway through, I couldn’t handle the high amount of sodium that I just stopped eating the noodles and broth. In addition, the sides that they gave us to put in the pho were terrible. The cilantro was soggy and yellow. The bean sprouts were slimy and not fresh. We also ordered a pad Thai with chicken and the texture of the chicken was super rubbery. The water looked a bit yellow. The waiters kept apologizing for our late meal but continued to serve others before us when we ordered the same things, and then said that they have a chef in training. The worst $20 meal I’ve ever spend. Don’t go here.
