Excellent service of well-presented, tasty, fresh, pub food at a reasonable price. We selected the Exmouth Arms because it was one of the few establishments serving food at 6pm on a Sunday in central Cheltenham, but we were very pleased we did so. It’s a traditional local, refurbished in modern style. Our pre-booked table was marked as reserved when we arrived. Service throughout was fast, efficient and friendly. The food was served as quickly as you could expect. My companion enjoyed her roast pork dinner. Her only criticism was that it was rather flooded with gravy, which she would prefers to be served separately. My sea bream was just as it should be, with crispy skin, and my request to replace the salsa verde with butter for the potato was accommodated without fuss.
Had a gorgeous burger with loads chips and side salad. Meat was like a piece of steak but was minced. Husband had a fish burger he loved it but said it was basic but nice. Will eat there again.
Great evening. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. It was great to see them pull together as a team to tackle the wind rain from this evening. To see them work together and get it organised so quickly, was impressive. You're a credit to Cheltenham, well done. Thanks for having us.
On Monday evening, before heading into the city for a brief ten-minute trip, I visited the Exmouth Arms, a charming pub located on Bath Road in Cheltenham. It’s quite a popular spot with plenty of seating, and even on a quiet Monday night, the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable.
