My sister had confirmed that there would be a varied menu, but there wasn't. The price we were told was £60 per head, but on the board, it said £30 for three courses. The waitresses were young and inexperienced, which made the service difficult. We were looking forward to a variety of options for our main course, but all they had was a roast. The food seemed to be leftovers from the day before, with cold, hard roast potatoes, burnt Yorkshire puddings, and cold mash. Despite wanting to complain, we had a long drive home and had to eat quickly. I debated on whether or not to write this review, but I believe it is important to share our experience. We were disappointed with the meal considering the price we paid. It was Boxing Day, but that should not be an excuse for poor service. We will not be returning.
We decided to visit this restaurant with friends and family after hearing about the new management. We were greeted warmly by Rob and Yvonne, who made us feel right at home. The drinks were excellent and we have gone back since and found it to be just as great as the first time.
We stopped in for Sunday lunch while passing by and found the food to be delicious and reasonably priced. There weren't many other diners in the restaurant. However, we were disappointed when we wanted a second drink and found no staff at the bar. They were all sitting down, playing on their phones. We had to approach them and ask to be served.
Went today for breakfast (usually go to Casters), had tried to book via telephone 3x yesterday but line had gone dead after a number of rings so we therefore arrived at 10am. The restaurant was empty with a few people in the bar area. I asked the server if we had needed to book and what had happened and she said she would speak tk her boss. The boss was the chef in the kitchen who shouted stating we would have to wait at least 20 minutes and I should have left a message , when I explained I didn't get that option he continued to shout that this was untrue, the phone was by the bar, he'd been on all day/night and if would have been answered. After this and bring made to feel a liar and very embarrassed in front of family and other customers we left and had a lovely breakfast elsewhere without sny wait time or booking!. With that lack of manners/customer service it is certainly one to avoid so many other great choices in Alsager
Great food but beware not open for food on Mondays and timed sometimes on Tuesdays ! Open the rest of the week ! Can close early on Sunday ! Look out for the excellent specials !
