Nellcote - Chicago

I would have said that to a manager, but a lot of luck to have one with the terrible service. for 4, just to sit on a table for 3. we finally moved. during our first round of drinks we ordered two beers that came out warm. they said the round was on them. as we like our warm beer. server came to check twice on our table and she could have less interested we were there. Eating was okay. the ny strip personally ordered, and it was pre-cut for me and not on the bone, as advertised. if in the opposite, I would recommend another restaurant.

The atmosphere in the building was great. very nice. it was not busy and they had personal, but they never came to check us or see if we need anything. we had to find them and ask when we needed more water, drinks.

Eating was not great, drinks were good, service was good, setting and ambiente was interesting and not on the beat path

We celebrate valentines dinner at Nellcote, the ambiance was fantastic. We could have a private conversation, didn't feel the need to shout over the background music, which was also a pretty great playlist. The food was reasonably portioned and tasted great, it's a fun spot to share plates. Our server was a character, which added to a great dinning experience

My waitress was extremely pushy that we order more expensive things on the menu. We ordered a desert and the waitress ended up bringing us a more expensive desert. She seemed to want to make our bill higher then what we expected it to be. As our meal finished we left our tip and she came up to the table while we were still putting our coats on and grabbed the tip. They seemed like they just wanted our money and for us to leave as quick as possible. Many waitress and waiters were on their phones which was understandable because it was not busy. But again our waitress was extremely unprofessional.
