The curtain bar is supposed to have two little knobs on it (it's had them in every other hotel by this company I've stayed at) to keep the curtain from sliding down the curved bar. This bar was upside down, so it did absolutely nothing to stop them. The next thing I noticed was the drain. Usually, there was a small cover over the drain, to make it look nicer, but in this case it had been set aside. I thought this was strange, but I quickly found out why. The shower head had three modes: jet, slightly wider jet, and a spray of water so fine I would have called it mist if it didn't also have the force of a bullet behind it. It was physically painful in all three modes. The only way I was able to actually shower was by turning it between spray and the wider jet, causing the spray to actually mist and the jet to sort of just tumble out of the head. It was a horrendous waste of water, even more so than a normal shower is. I recommend fixing it as soon as possible.
Everything was great. The only complaint was that the upstairs guests must have been stomping around or something in the middle of the night. Oh, and the hot tub was weirdly shaped. It was just me both times I was in it, so it's not an issue, but if multiple people wanted to hang out, it would be awkward. I really liked that you had stairs to get in the pool, not just a ladder.Breakfast was good! Eggs, sausage, pancakes, bread/English muffin choices, cinnamon rolls that were hot, milk, yogurt, and fruit. You couldn't go wrong!
The hotel is decent. What I enjoyed the most was the complimentary breakfast. There were so many options for breakfast. The location is okay. It's in the middle of a cornfield several miles from downtown Chippewa Falls. It's nice that the hotel has a pool and a hot tub, but the pool is small. The pool area is also very loud. Overall, it's a decent hotel.Rooms: The rooms are very clean. In the standard two queen room, there is wifi, an ironing board, an iron, a TV, a refrigerator, and a microwave.Nearby activities: There are lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Downtown Chippewa Falls is also several miles out.Walkability: You can't really walk anywhere from the hotel. You need transportation to get places.Food drinks: There are a lot of snacks available for purchase. The complimentary breakfast has a lot of options, including eggs, sweet potatoes, ham, cereal, fruit, juice, etc. Breakfast goes from 6 to 9:30. Get there earlier than 9:30 because everything is already put away by then.
Very nice! The breakfast was good, much better than some other Holiday Inn Express. Will come again! We are traveling photographers and stay in a lot of hotels. We truly appreciate when a hotel is not overly expensive and has good service since we are usually on a tight budget.
Our youth hockey team stayed for a tournament. Price was great. The manager Mike B. was fantastic. All the staff super friendly. Rooms and hotel were 5 star. Wish all hotels were this nice especially at the price point.Rooms: 5/5
