We booked table for restaurant but tried to put us in bar which was soon rectified. ...I also requested Sunday roast beef which I was told customers had cancelled and therefore get that request. ..so ordered lamb which was awful. ..Big lump of fat and staff agreed and knocked it off bill...staff were under lot of stress. ..everything seemed to be going wrong....but onbrighter side my husbands meal of cod was good. ..We will go back again because have been before and usually very good ...just seemed tohave bad day

We have eaten here before on a number of occasions and as usual food was good (large portions as well) and service friendly and efficient. If you are looking for fresh, well prepared food this is the place. The menu has all the usuals with some interesting meals as well. I recommend the Smoked Haddock risotto one of the best I have eaten. Its a starter but is the size of a main. The veal burger was also excellent. We will be back.

This is the second time we have dined at Dawsons and the quality and service do not warrant the price. The food is good but produced for coach parties but charged at London prices. We have given feedback about the oversized portion of the risotto starter but it's still served as the size of a main. My duck was ordered pink but was not pink. The steak was average and the lamb dishes decidedly skimping in lamb with variable cooking. I think Dawsons have become focused on the coach travelling customers rather than those who may visit every month. The service needs sorting, extremely variable and non attentive other than the brown haired girl with long hair who was lovely. N

We had our evening meal on Tuesday. We had the breads with olives, my wife had the scollops as a starter with fish pie as a main and my I had the risotto to start followed by the chowder. All was really good. The only feedback we would give is that the risotto was a mains size and so I struggled to finish his chowder. Overall highly recommended.

WE loved it as we always do... never dissapointed, food is delicious and so fresh and the service is exemplary.
