Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWorst dining experience I’ve had in my 43 years. Major wasp problem at our table. Dining out is a rare treat these days for our family, but we decided to go to Cuckoo Trattoria to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We were seated in the corner of the patio, right by the back area where the goats roam. Everything was fine until our food arrived and the wasps descended. A few wasps are to be expected in outdoor dining, but at all times each one of us had wasps on our food. This didn’t appear to be a problem at any other tables, just ours. We talked to the waitress, who talked to the manager, and we also talked directly to the host. The manager did nothing and the host said there was no possibility of moving us to another table, although while we were dealing with this they seated multiple groups at other tables, and considering they don’t accept reservations it’s not possible those tables were reserved for those groups. They must have been banking on us just leaving quickly, which we had to do. We all ended up boxing up our food to eat at home. The management clearly don’t care as they did absolutely nothing other than put some cloves on the table (did nothing) and tell my husband to swat at the wasps. We have been to Cuckoo before but we will never return again. They had a line up when we were leaving, so I guess they don’t care to treat customers well us leaving so quickly just opened up a table for them to seat some other unsuspecting group. I can’t comment on the food as it was cold by the time we got home. Waitress service was good but host and management were not.
I have heard about this famous restaurant and have been trying to go there for years, but either it has been long lineup or closed due to heat wave. Finally, my family of 8 people went there as the highlight and really enjoyed the food and garden ambience with warm hospitality. If you plan to go there, I would recommend to line up at least 15 minutes before it opens, then you would be granted the first round of tables and best services. We ordered a platter of spaghetti of meatballs (big enough for 4 hungry people , The Cuckoo pizza with chicken, Boscaiola, Platter of Garden Sald and Filone Sandman. Everything tasted authentic Italian with fresh ingredients. It's the worth the wait :
Nice place. Good waitress But the front door guy... even though he was extremely kind and nice... made some sexual jokes... which I was not 100% comfortable. Also... had kids around. A bit too much. The pizza was not good. Extremely pricey. Save on foods has better frozen ones for 8 dollars. But it was an OK experience.
Excellent food! We had pasta, pizza , ciabatta. Portions are generous. However, our service was extremely slow. Took forever for every step of the meal: ordering, getting our drinks, getting our food, our to-go box, and the check.
We celebrated a birthday at Cuckoos and we all enjoyed the excellent and authentic Italian cuisine. The patio added to the Italian experience and the service provided by Lauryn was top notch!
