Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWang Ga Ma is an authentic Korean restaurant specialize in Korean stew. As they call themselves “Royal Village, King of Hot Pot”. It is located in the same plaza as H-Mart, Coquitlam. It’s very close to Kimbab Cheonguk. Also, just across the street from Black Milk Water cafe. Wang Ga Ma Exterior
This was a staple in my family as we used to go every weekend after church until we moved further away. I recently went back with my family and we noticed that the portions got smaller, and naturally the prices got higher, but the taste was still the same. We usually don't get typical dishes such as soondubu or bibimbap, but we rave about their side dishes and hotpots full of tender meat.
This place is always busy with a waiting line every time we tried to come. We managed to beat the crowd today for dinner. The spicy pork with rice was very good, with the right amount of spices. The bibimbap was reasonably good as well. The seafood tofu soup was originally, however.
After doing some Christmas shopping at Lougheed, Grayson and I decided to go for Korean food at Wang Ga Ma. We usually head over to Jong Ga for Korean but we decided to try something new that particular night. The restaurant was packed by the time we got in there and being that it was a weekend and a rainy day, it made sense. In comparison to most Korean restaurants, the menu was quite limited. Instead of having eight pages of items to choose from, there were two. I would say that the food was a little pricier than other restaurants in the area.
In my continued effort to find a Korean restaurant in the lower mainland that serves a Galbitang comparable to the one I had at New Seoul in the States, I’ve asked a Korean coworker for recommendations, and she suggested Wang Ga Ma in Coquitlam. Fannypack was once again my partner in crime.
