We were pleased with our visit to Canterbury and plan on visiting again soon. We had the coconut shrimp as an appetizer. It was nice, but we both agreed not a signature appetizer. Main course, he had the Duck and I had an evening special of venison. The duck was nothing short of amazing. The portion of half of a whole duck was right for the price. The flavor was amazing. My venison was delicious. Our sides were all tasty. There was fresh cooked veggies, red cabbage, fresh fruit, potatoes, spetzel, etc. Our 8 year-old daughter had the cheese fondue for appetizer and main course. There was so much of it she brought it home for snack time. We shared a chocolate fondue. It was ok. The chocolate should have been brought out warm to the table. The selection of fruits for dipping was amazing. We were sat near the hostess stand. It made for a busy, distracting area. I wish the stand were not to central to the dining area.
Really enjoyed a special dinner here outside in their back courtyard. They have heat lamps but it was unseasonably warm for the end of September and they weren't needed. They were meticulous about cleaning between diners and staff wearing masks. The food quality was high and there was a high degree of attention. Prices were reasonable for what I believe is the nicest restaurant in town. We got the fixed price meal and a nice bottle of NY wine. The swiss menu was comforting if not a little bit hardy ???????? They have a parking lot behind the restaurant.
