The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's priced as a 2 star, which it isn't. It hasn't breeched that barrier in terms of food presentation or ambiance.I loved our servers, they weren't as dialed as I usually would expect at a restaurant at this level, but clearly were well trained so probably newer. They were so nice.Reservations are easy to get, the food was well prepared and plated and the wine pairing is absolutely at a 2 star level. Highly recommend going if you don't mind it being a scooch overpriced
We were excited to go to our first Michelin star restaurant and we’re not disappointed. Every course was phenomenal in taste and presentation. The service was impeccable. We felt like royalty. The staff found the perfect level of warmth, kindness and attentiveness without being intrusive. We truly appreciated the wonderful evening of fine dining.
For a Michelin restaurant this venue is very casual. We saw a couple that looked like they walked in from the beach. The service is elegant and friendly. The patio is elegant but could benefit from white table cloths and more flowers. Yet, the food is very good and the the people there are friendly. If you are having dinner, have a plan to get out of the mall. It is shut down and leaving is difficult.
Im not sure what people are thinking when leaving this place poor or mediocre reviews… this place is wonderful…. Food is excellent!! Menu is creative and different. Everything is simply wonderful.Vegetarian options: Carrot dish was lovely. As was the truffle dish…. 10 out of 10 from me and i am a picky eater…
Knife Pleat is housed on the Penthouse floor of South Coast Plaza. Elegant, intimate, and surprisingly more casual than expected, this restaurant is easily one of my favorites. I would expect nothing less coming from a Michelin starred restaurant, and it doesn't disappoint. The service is impeccable and the food is extraordinary. The menu changes regularly, but the plating and quality is a constant. If I could visit monthly I would be happy. This is a costly restaurant that increases in price on the weekends. Reservations are highly recommended due to the small size of the restaurant. Expect to pay a deposit when making a reservation.
