Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónCame for breakfast on Monday which was delicious and so much variety. Even managed to get my fussy toddler to eat something! We were served by Abi Emma and as usual the service was fab. We come here quite often due to value for money and it being a kid friendly place and always have a good experience!
Charly, Amy and Troy specifically were amazing. Answered every question I had, and gave me a warm welcome throughout my visit. Id definitetly come here again for the service alone! A rarity these days.
I didn’t read the reviews before we came in this case as a last minute thing, in the right location. We were greeted with a smile and a cheery attitude by Troy at the bar and seated quickly. Our order was taken and drinks dispensed, no problem. We had starters, main course and deserts. The food was hot tasty and well prepared, what more could we ask for. We were served by kristal, who came across as bubbly and attentive, without being intrusive. Breakfast was also eaten here, a good old full English with toast and coffee. Natalie , who at 06:50 in the morning was amazingly cheerful and pleasant, looked after us and the food was freshly cooked, hot and a presented well. To sum up, Would I stay again, definitely YES
Absolutely the worst place I have visited in ages. We booked the restaurant for our family to celebrate what would have been our mum/nan 's 89th birthday she passed away last year and this is the first birthday without her. There were 11 of us in total and we booked online with no issues. We were telephoned on the day to say that the Carvery meat had been delayed and that the carvery wouldn 't be available until much later than our booking time. This wasn 't an issue as we didn 't want the carvery. Upon arriving at the restaurant we were the only ones there and there was no welcoming hello, instead the team members looked like they were having a very intense team talk. It wasn 't until 10 minutes later or so that someone acknowledged we were there when more of our party arrived. We were shown to our seats which weren 't in a nice part of the restaurant like the conservatory area or on a suitable long table, There were 3 different tables pushed together all different sizes and heights and chairs all mismatched and some big, some small etc... We sat down and were given a folder for the Gluten Free members although all the other Brewer Fayres I have visited have their own GF menu and the website has their menu!! We decided what to have and went to the bar to order and pay. There was only one member of staff on the bar at all times the whole 2.5hrs we were there for and the place had queues at times because there wasn 't enough staff and the restaurant was not even 1/4 full for a SUNDAY!!!! It took 30/40 minutes for the starters to arrive. Our starters came and one of them was wrong so we sent it back with the poor lad who appeared to be the only member of staff rushing around amongst all the tables and was taking the flack for the unhappy customers. The starter we sent back took ages to appear, well 15 minutes after all of us had eaten ours. It was unappetising and tasteless. The cutlery on the table was dirty and when we used it for the starters once we had cleaned it properly we had to ask several times throughout the mains appearing for cutlery and then it was forgotten and we were expected to eat with our fingers. When the mains arrived they looked awful and we had to wait another 40/45mins for them to arrive after the starters had finished. The haddock and chips were overcooked, the chips were cold. The scampi was burnt, and the pies had a dollop of mash which looked like they could hardly spare any. The peas on the kid 's meal and the mash were cold and the steaks well that was a complete JOKE. We ordered two steaks one medium and one well done with salad instead of chips and a portion of coleslaw 2 bowls of coleslaw we were charged different prices for the non gluten free one was 99p and the GF one was nearly double the price THERE IS NO GLUTEN IN MAYONAISE!!!!!!! . What arrived wasn 't a meal worth the £13.00+price tag. The steak was overcooked, burnt and rubbery. The salad consisted of lettuce and 2 tomatoes and the coleslaw failed to arrive until we had sent the meals away and cleared the table of the other meals. We refused to have a fresh steak meal and were told that we would need to speak to the manager at the end of the meal for a refund. Subsequently, two of us went hungry!! We let our younger guest have his pudding as it was part of the meal plan and called over the manager, who this time was not the woman we had previously spoken to who promised the refund, but a gentleman appeared to speak to us. Unfortunately, we didn 't catch the manager 's name but I would say his persona was not one of friendliness towards us. He informed us that his chef had WALKED OUT OF THE KITCHEN AFTER A ROW WITH THE OTHER CHEF AND HE THE MANAGER WAS DOING THE COOKING!!! This explains the lack of professionalism in presentation and knowledge of how to cook things. Surely the simplest answer would have been to close the kitchen and avoid people sending food back or worse still risk having someone fall ill with a Manager cooking instead of a chef not in chef whites and debatable whether or not he was hygiene qualified to do so!! The manager 's response to our unhappiness was What would you like me to do Well we mentioned a refund and upon him having the cheek to say just on the meals not eaten, I spoke up and said he could refund the whole meal, as the meals received were not at a standard worth paying for, the whole cost of the meal was around £170.00 which is a lot of money to pay out for meals that are basically below sub standard. He finally agreed after persuasion, and apologised for ruining our meal which was supposed to be a memorable occasion to remember our family member by but was ruined by this restaurant. The kitchen shouldn 't have been allowed to remain open with no proper chef. The staff consisted of 3 members and there were other customers after us who were complaining also about their food. This whole experience left my grandad who is 93 heartbroken and in floods of tears. This Brewers Fayre needs to be shut down as it obviously cannot run as a proper restaurant. 25 years ago my parents had their wedding reception there when it was Goffs Park Hotel and it was 10 times better. This is an awful experience and a place we will not recommend or return to.
I have to be honest, food was not the best however 2 waitresses Helen and Natalie gave me the best customer service I could have asked for. 2 very hard workers who are a real asset to premier inn and Brewers fare. I hope they are appreciated within the company.
