The only downside is the small pool and the carpets, which could use a thorough cleaning or replacement. The hotel is on the older side, but considering the location and price, it's hard to find a better option in Durango, especially with breakfast included. Although we didn't try the breakfast as we prefer to eat at local restaurants, the staff, including a friendly young lady working nights and a very tall gentleman at the front desk in the morning, provided excellent customer service despite being busy due to a car show in town. The hotel was clean and had a pleasant scent. It's highly recommended to stay here, even with a toddler as they provide a bed. Unfortunately, we forgot to take pictures of the room, but the bathroom was very clean. Nearby activities include Lake Nighthorse, Ross, TJMaxx, Old Navy, a dispensary, and a grocery store conveniently located across the street.
This motel, priced as if it were a five-star establishment, only deserves maybe 1 to 1.5 stars (if I am being generous). I was shocked by the cost of a single room ($250 plus taxes) when I arrived. This was not the same Comfort Inn I had stayed at in the past. The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows seemed to be mostly air and fluff, the AC was noisy and had to be turned off, as did the mini fridge. While Wi-Fi and cable TV were available, they are standard amenities at any cheaper motel. The complimentary breakfast was disappointing with undercooked scrambled eggs, gray sausages, the usual cold cereals, and terrible coffee. I couldn't wait to leave. I will not be giving any more business to Comfort Inn in the future.
I would like to thank the owners for reinvesting in the property and investing in the employees. For example, the breakfast lady has been there for 15 years. We stayed in a clean, quiet, and comfortable king room for 4 nights. If you enjoy breakfast, this one is well above average for Choice Hotels. Rooms: 5/5.
Had to CHANGE OUR OWN SHEETS We 'd stayed here once before, just a few months ago and it was great clean and modern. This time it was the opposite our room was not clean there were hairs in bedding, in sink and in tub. The faucet still had previous occupants toothpaste on it and the countertop had clearly not been cleaned. The mirror had stains on it. The tub had mildew stains and room overall felt icky.We spoke to night desk person and she was unapologetic and clueless. Said they could not find manager or cleaning person. She barely looked up from her screen let alone have any customer service skills. When we returned from dinner, nothing had been done and she said 'she didn 't have our room number. 'She seemed to have no interest and no training. It was very disappointing. She said she still couldn 't contact manager and cleaning person. She finally brought up new bedding and we had to MAKE OUR OWN BEDS.This was unacceptable.Next morning..another young girl at desk at least apologized but still there was no manager to be found.I left my phone number to be contacted and unsurprisingly NO manager called me.I am not sure if it 's under new management, but we were very disappointed and feel we overpaid for a room that was dirty and we had to change sheets ourselves.
Easy access from highway and into town. Price includes a decent minor buffet breakfast to get you on the road quicker. Covenient water bottle filler next to ice machine.Room was comfortable; overall clean, but some mold starting shower grout at eye level that should've been cleaned by housekeeping prior.Friendly staff. Will continue to stay at Comfort Inns as they're a good value.
