Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónThis was my first visit here this week. A stunning venue, beautifully decorated with lovely gardens. Quite a few rooms where I was stopping which were nice and comfortable. The food was superb, I went for the marinated pork steak which was outstanding. Nice and tender and full of favour. Great home cooked chips as well. The food was very reasonably priced for the quality. Will definitely try it again if in the area.
The food was absolutely superb. The veggie options were really tasty and beautifully presented. I’m told the carnivore versions were equally brilliant – especially the sausage rolls. The cakes and pastries were out of this world. The lemon and chocolate cakes were particularly excellent. The service – as ever – was friendly, helpful and speedy. All in all, another great time at The Courtyard. We’ve already booked our next visit.
My wife and I stopped by the Courtyard for lunch and enjoyed a delicious meal. She ordered the Ploughman's and I had the ham, egg, and chips, both of which were excellent. We couldn't find any faults with our meals! We decided to splurge on the strawberry cheesecake for dessert, which was absolutely divine. The waitress was very attentive and provided excellent service. We are planning to return this week to try some other dishes on the menu.
I went for afternoon tea and I must admit that I was extremely disappointed. The quality of the ingredients was cheap and unsatisfactory. We were given only one scone to share between two people, which was overly doughy and unappetizing. Additionally, there were only two tiny mince pies, two slices of chewy malt loaf, and two dry slices of bread served. The clotted cream lacked flavor and the sandwich selection, which included tuna, cheese and chutney, and ham and mustard, was lackluster. We waited a long time for our food to arrive, as there was a Christmas party taking place. In fact, we had already finished our tea and coffee before the food finally made its appearance. The service was subpar, as we had to go to the bar to pay since no one came to assist us. Considering the price we paid, the overall experience was disappointing and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
We went for lunch and found it to be a charming spot to enjoy a meal while overlooking the gardens. We both ordered the broccoli and stilton soup, which was one of the tastiest soups we've had in a while. For our main courses, one of us had the perfectly cooked rib eye steak, which was exactly how we wanted it. Everything was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I had the belly pork, and while everything on the plate was tasty, I was disappointed that it was served without any jus or sauce, making the dish dry and less enjoyable for me.
