Just had a fabulous meal here. The restaurant is beautiful and homely with open beams and a huge fire place in the bar. Very cosy feel, loads of charm and helpful friendly attentive staff. Would be perfect in the day also with a terrace outside. Leading out on to the marina beach. We shared the Mixed Jesse to start which was lovely my main was a good size and my addition of a meat option was not a problem. The menu is at a good price Just a fantastic venue. Such a good find.
2nd time eating here for Sunday Lunch. Service and hospitality is wonderful. Unhurried service with delightful staff. Food is delicious with generous portions. Really enjoyable and very much worth the visit.
The location of this classic old pub is worthy of five stars, but the typical British lack of customer service and amazing food brings my overall rating for this pub to 3.5/5 which unfortunately means 3 stars on yelp. Off the beaten path, this traditional gastro pub is beautifully set off a little road and on a quiet marina. and down some old stairs
The pub has a great location and views, but unfortunately the food did not live up to its reputation. We ordered sandwiches for lunch, which were just okay. The bread seemed to be processed and not fresh bakery bread, and the fries were clearly from a bag. The homemade desserts menu had mixed results - the treacle tart was excellent, but the sticky toffee pudding was cold and rock solid. Overall, the food felt more like Brake Brothers food than fresh, homemade dishes. We were very disappointed and wouldn't return, as there are many other great pubs in the area with better food.
