Hands down the best sandwich for miles!!! So many great ones to choose from and it's all super fresh and made to order!!
Dear Limericks,First of all: Your sandwiches are delicious! The Queen of Hearts is my favorite. Recently, I stopped by with my boyfriend for one of those and he got a different sandwich. Now, my first gripe is that the bread that my sandwich came on was so small. It was almost the size of an Olive Garden breadstick! What gives? This has never happened before. Just because I got a vegetarian sandwich that means I get smaller portions? Geez.My second gripe is something that also has never happened before and my biggest complaint: a mild allergic reaction. I'm not allergic to anything on the Queen of Hearts, but do you know what I am severely allergic to? Peanuts. When I went to order, I saw a jar of peanut butter on a shelf but I didn't think anything of it. My boyfriend was quick to tell me that y'all made PB&J's though when my mouth felt like it was on fire. Thankfully I did not have to go to the ER. Just a word of advice: please remember that when working with allergens, please use a separate area and separate tools to avoid cross contamination. I only say this because I was crazy enough to test a theory of mine. I originally took my first bite from the middle of the sandwich where it was sliced, so I tried the outer edge of the sandwich to see if I would have a reaction. And guess what? Nothing. That told me that someone had used a contaminated knife to cut my sandwich. Now if you made it this far, I want to say again that the sandwiches are truly delicious, the staff has always been friendly and the dining area is clean. However, this was a rare miss from Limerick's. I'm sad that this was my last experience with them as my boyfriend has moved out of state, but I'm putting this here for the employees as a way to improve and as a cautionary tale for anyone else with a peanut allergy. This happened on 11/18. I know I could've called, I know we could've driven back there, but we were literally preparing for a drive back to Arizona and I wasn't trying to make a big deal of it. I really hope anyone who reads this is understanding.Vegetarian options: Queen of Hearts
I've been wanting to try this since we moved to Ennis. Based on reviews, I expected the best sandwich I have ever had. It was not good. My husband and I both ordered Turkey ciabatta. A side of potato salad and a side of macaroni salad. I'm pretty sure both salads were store bought. The sandwich had the worst flavor. I am not sure if it was the olive mix or the dressing on it. The bread was not a ciabatta that I've ever seen. I had to scrape off all the toppings just to eat it. And I have been sick since eating it. Yuck.
My partner and I were unsure of lunch ideas and decided to give this place a try. Did not disappoint, the sandwiches were so tasty. I got the Diane's club and he had the Habana. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely have this again.
