Good selection on menu we had a bar meal which was very enjoyable, served by very pleasant staff lovely views of the gardens unfortunately we had bad weather for our stay so unable to enjoy them and sit outside

We ate dinner and breakfast here on the 24th and 25th of August while we stayed at the Lodge, The appetizers and the mains at dinner were well prepared and the service was polite and prompt. Breakfast was included in the cost of our room and we can honestly say this was the best English breakfast we have had on our British trip with the freshest paisteries I have had in years. We would strongly recommend this restaurant to everyone

We stayed in the hotel as we had a present of two nights B&B and an evening meal. The menu choice looked OK and for a supplement My husband chose the sirloin steak and cooked blue. Well it came and it was very tough, cooked OK but not a good steak at all. I ordered the soup to start, no mention of there being peppers in it, but when it came it was packed with them so be warned all ingredients are not shown on the menu. The ham and chicken terrine was tasty though. I had the fish for a main and that was fresh and lovely. We had a nice bottle of Merlot, so that helped. Next time, if we come here again, I will try the mushroom pasta and keep my husband away from the steak! Staff were friendly and efficient although young and not yet proficient in the wine names, but that will come with experience. Overall not the best meal we have ever had and not the worst either.

We dined at this restaurant the night before we departed and were very pleased with the food. We both enjoyed the tempura prawns, which were delicious. I ordered the pork belly, while my husband had fish and chips - both were absolutely delicious and we highly recommend these dishes. We also enjoyed a bottle of Fleurie wine and had a lovely evening overall.
