Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWe went here for our Christmas lunch, there were twenty five of us and we had a lovely time. The place is beautiful, the food is good and the staff very attentive. We had no complaints from any of our group and I would recommend this hotel. The tables were stunningly set special thanks to Ryan .
We visited this restaurant for the first time and we will certainly return! The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, but the staff were still able to provide excellent service. The afternoon tea was delightful, with tasty warm savouries and a delicious warm scone. The ambiance was relaxing and we were not rushed at all. We had a wonderful afternoon catching up.
We have eaten here twice now, the second time as a guest of the manager after a disappointing meal on our first visit. Both times we ordered the soup and macaroni cheese with garlic bread. On both occasions the soup was bland and the macaroni very disappointing and pretty tasteless. It would seem that the kitchen staff don't actually taste what's being produced. On the up side it's a nice hotel and surroundings , staff are friendly and polite. Prices are very reasonable. Maybe other items on the menu are better and worth trying.
The appetizers and desserts at this restaurant are good, and the service is attentive. The dining room is quiet and comfortable. However, the main issue is the limited options at the carvery - only two pork and one beef option with a small selection of vegetables. A new carvery is set to open nearby in June at the John Smith Business Park, which may offer a better variety.
In addition to the steaks, we also had starters and desserts. We started with smoked haddock goujons and garlic mushrooms, which were tasty. For dessert, we had the specials and I highly recommend the truffles if they are available. We will be returning for another Steak Night soon.
