West Branch Grill - Finland

We had the bootlegger's burger, half n half wings, tikicolada cider and some other beers... It was really good! Way better than what I expected in the middle of no where. The waitress was amazing as well! Huge smile, very friendly, and very helpful.

Great beer selection and friendly patrons, but that's about it. If you want anything other than a drink at the bar, I'd go somewhere else. Service was very slow. Went with a group of six and sat in the table area. After taking our initial order the server would stop by only to drop off food and someone would order a beer and she'd turn around and disappear to go get it without waiting for anyone else to order; this happened repeatedly. Server mentioned the cook was new because it was taking so long. We ordered burgers and pizza and there was a 40 minute difference between when the first burgers came and when the last pizza came. Burgers were bland and one person didn't get the bacon they ordered, but it was 20 minutes before the server came back so they'd decided to eat it anyway by then. The pizza was not impressive, and overpriced at $20 for a 10 inch and $25 for a 14 inch. Also the menus posted in the pictures on Yelp are old and no longer accurate. They've really slimmed down their offerings and increased their prices.

Just got in after 15 days on the Superior Hiking Trail. Drinking my first/second Surly Furious. Fantastic pizza. All home made. Thin crust. Burgers are also wonderful, as are both the fries and onion rings. Welcoming go and home atmosphere. True north woods! Now on third Surly....

Fun times at this typical small town bar. plenty of local characters, a great bar tender, and really great pizza. They have tvs(yes, it's a good place to watch the game, sports fans), a pool table, darts, large seating area, local beer on tap, burgers, and pull tabs. High marks for a great small town bar feel. You can have supper with the kids, a beer with the guys, hang with your grandma, or go solo and find yourself among friends. cheers.
