Sat us by the kitchen where my children listened to very off color conversation my the staff. It got worse by getting wrapped silverware that had blood soak in 2 of the 4 place settings. Asked to move tables and server ghosted us and hid in the kitchen and never came out. We waited 5 minutes then left. shameful and will be sharing experience with other review sites.
We always enjoy going to Village Inn for breakfast. My wife I enjoy getting the VIB breakfast. I got a email saying that a Veteran could get a VIB breakfast free on Veterans Day. But when we got there it was only the 222 . But just like the Free Pie on Wednesday we never get that in Grand Junction locations either.
The food and service was very good. The Cobb salad was good. Although, next time I will have them leave off the crumbled blue cheese. The lemon meringue pie was great after it thawed out.
Menu descriptions of the food were better than the food. I had a grilled chicken and avocado sandwich. Chicken and bun were dry, it lacked seasoning. The salad was nice. Hubby had a burger with bacon, etc, he said it also lacked seasoning. His fries were good. Our server Lola was sweet.
The food was what I'd expect and how can you mess up breakfast, right? Pretty good overall. My complaint is that there is a big sign that says you can get $10 off the meal for downloading the app. First of all, the app is not primetime- it takes a lot of working on it for get it figured out. Second, the $10 off is accumulative for all your visits until you've reached the $10 in rewards. The signs are very misleading. Unfortunately, they made me mad at the attempt to let me think they were giving me something. If there wasn't a sign at all I would happily have paid for my meal and given them a 5-star review.
