Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónHad dinner with My Wife last night Sunday Very up-scale atmosphere, However, there apparently is a problem with management training. Our Server, Alex, appeared quite willing to serve but did not have the attention to detail and training that would be expected in this type of establishment, even considering it's in Grand Rapids, MI. Lot's and lots of little things lacking in service that add up to a big disappointment. They brought out the first two courses at the same time, I had to ask for the second course to be taken back and kept warm until we finished with the first one, and then it came back tepid I had to keep asking for a new knife with each course, and the waiter would fill my champagne glass and then miss filling my wife's… there is a lot more, but listing them all just makes me depressed about wasting an evening there. Service is what differentiates mediocre restaurants from the outstanding, but even the food here was not prepared properly. I ordered the Tile Fish, which was on the Chef’s selection segment of the menu, never having had it before, I assumed I just did not like Tile Fish, the texture, the taste, the toughness, etc. so I sent it back. At least the Headwaiter ? Not really sure of his job came back and explained that the chef had indeed inspected the returned dinner and it was undercooked, apparently there were others too how did it get out of the kitchen like that? . They offered to bring me something else but by that time my Wife had finished her dinner and I did not feel like making her wait for me. They did offer us complimentary deserts, which my Wife enjoyed, a Meyer Lemon Crepe, she likes lemon! – I don’t typically eat deserts. When they brought the bill they had “forgotten” to remove the charge for the fish, of course-yet another example of lake of attention. But when reminded, did take it off. The service at six.one.six is disappointing especially since the owners of this restaurant have some other very nice establishments. The JW Marriott on the other hand, was quite nice, I would recommend the hotel, especially the concierge level, one can fill up on the snacks at night if they are still hungry from dinner Service there was first class… as expected. Stay at the hotel, but dine elsewhere.
