Taverna Romana - Hamburg

A beautiful place. The owners come from Greece and Hamburg.Greek and Italian food is served. So it may happen that they offer you an Ouzo after you had a pizza. You can find German and Hamburg food also. The staff is nice, I know most of them since a lot of years.Clean Toilets. The place can be crowded of there's a football match on TV, I normally avoid going there then. The smoking area in the rear part has no door so you can really get lots of smoke on some days.

I really had a nice afternoon at Taverna Romana ! "Ciorba de burta" was delicious and the service very good. I’d recommend it to anyone not just for its food but also for its relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Let's put it this way: what would change a traveller's mood after a day of waking in the cold wind of Hamburg? One thing would be finding a welcoming, warm, traditional and (on top of everything) cheap taverna!Everything was excellent, from the prompt service to the warm atmosphere, excellent, really tasty food (please try their secret "Ciorba de afumatura"! simply fabulous!!) and everything at a price that make you wonder how is it possible?!?Yup! Hamburg seems/looks much much friendlier to me ever since Taverna Romana happened!

My dad and I were lost in Hamburg, looking for a restaurant, when we came across Taverna Romana.The service was excellent and the food delicious. We will never forget the place and the very friendly owners we talk to before leaving.A place to go !

Avoid. Unpleasant service from both waiters we saw, we felt unwelcome. Felt as though they wanted our money but without giving and of the service or effort. No attempt at pleasantries whatsoever.
