Escalante's - Houston

The empanadas were very tasty. The jalapeno ranch(? Was a delightful addition to the dish. I didn't care much for the chicken enchiladas I got. This restaurant is not for picky eating kids. Not very many options for bland eating children. My friend's kid, was disappointed and got chicken tenders but didn't like the beans or rice. But he was probably just being a brat The rest of us enjoyed the food and the service. We got there 30 minutes before closing time, but we thought it was earlier than it actually was. The food came out hot and fresh and in good order. So, we enjoyed it overall.

I love the service here. I arrived with a group of 10 without reservations, and the front desk staff got to work putting a space together and we super friendly. I even hassled them by wanting to sit in a certain area of the restaurant and they happily moved me (at least it seemed it was no problem! . My guests were well attended by the waiter and food and margaritas were great. Kudos to the manager for having this kind of staff.

My friends and I had a great time celebrating here today. Edwardo was a great waiter- attentive but not hovering. We are sure going to request him for our waiter next time. The food is consistently good at a reasonable price. Merry Christmas!
