As a first-time visitor to Jackson, I didn't know what to expect re: COVID protocols, what would be open and how seriously individual businesses would take the safety measures in place. It's hard to imagine having a better experience at a bar or restaurant right now than what we had at The Rose this weekend. The ladies at the front kept everything in order and were extraordinarily friendly about ensuring everyone adhered to protocols to stay safe, but our experience was made even better by our server Tatum who went above and beyond to make our two nights at The Rose an absolute delight. Tatum made everyone feel welcome, she was the fastest server I've ever seen and there was never a point in the night where we felt like we were trying to get more drinks, more water or more of anything. She made us feel like we were the only customers at the bar even though there was a line out the door and our group joked afterward that if we were ever going to open a bar down the road, Tatum would be the first person we'd hire to manage the operations. She was that good and convinced us to spend our second night out in Jackson at The Rose, too! We're grateful to everyone at The Rose for creating the safest possible COVID bar experience and we're excited to recommend this place to our friends.
We were waiting to pick up dinner from a place round the corner and saw The Rose . Decided to pop in for a cocktail to spend the time. We were a bit disappointed at the 1st look at the menu because it seemed a bit basic (living in San Francisco definitely spoils u with amazing cocktail places) but the drinks were amazing. It was not your regular old fashioned but really unique, tasty and well blended. We ended up having 2 cocktails each and loved everything we tried.
For cocktails The Rose couldn't be better. Their bartenders know their craft and were personable, professional and knowledgeable. And I must admit watching them coat the inside of my glass with bitters but spinning it up in the air was pretty cool! The lounge itself was more homey than classic cocktail lounge which to me, added to the experience. And the one pool table only had one cue but most folks were not there to play billiards.
When you're here, you're family--especially if you're LGBTQ+. My partner and I stopped in for a drink on our way back to our hotel and immediately wondered why we hadn't spent our whole evening here. The GM, Paige, greeted us and was so incredibly sweet--definition of professional. As a GM myself, you recognize when people know what they're doing and how they're leading an establishment. Mars, our server, went out of his way to make us feel comfortable, then proceeded to deliver one of the best Manhattans I've had. 5 stars is an understatement.
