On arrival at lunch time on Saturday, the parking lot was pretty bare, that should have been my first clue. The tea was old and we had to replace it with diet coke. The fried green tomatoes appetizer was good. My mother's baked potato was cold, the butter would not melt on it. Her ribs were good, but after she returned her potato, the next helping of ribs she received were burnt. I ordered the Burnt Ends Sandwich with two sides for $8.99, my two sides were a baked sweet potato and fried squash. When my order arrived with the other 3 orders in my party, there was no bread for anyone. Having ordered a sandwich, I did not expect to have the glop of meat on the plate and no bread. We were told the bread was cooking. A 1/3 of the end on my sweet potato was rotten, ROTTEN! I politely returned my plate and asked for a potato that was not rotten, the waitress took the plate, offering no apology. She returned with a very small baked sweet potato. Half-way through the meal the bread arrives and I can now make my sandwich, half of the meat cubes are fat and gooey. I returned the plate and asked that it be taken off my bill, the waitress agreed. At the end of the meal, the waitress took off the $8.99 for the Burnt Ends Sandwich meal and charged me $2.49 for a baked sweet potato and $3.49 for a side order of fried squash. The waitress informed me that she thought that was fair. Our bill came to $61.47. Our waitress did not provide the best service nor did she try to change our view of her place of employment. So, I gave her a fair tip, $0. That is the first time I have not left a tip.
Gift card city!!! They have gift cards on sale. You can get a $25 gift card for only $15 with a coupon. It's so great! It's just in time for Christmas and it's a great gift. Two people can easily eat for $25. You might just have to leave a tip. It depends on what you order and if you go for lunch or dinner. I think our family is going to love getting a gift card and we save $10 on each gift card!
The last time we came we had a horrible experience. Food came out cold and couldn't find the waitress for a refill. We thought we would give them another chance since there was a coupon for a steak dinner in the Money Pages coupon magazine. It's steak dinner for two with a side, an appetizer and a dessert. All for $19.99! The food and service seemed average at best. I doubt we would have come if we didn't have the coupon.
Good food at reasonable prices. Excellent ribs, good salmon and great salads. The worst problem I have ever encountered there was them running out of ribs, they’re that good.
