Mad Greek - Johnson City

Mad Greek offers a variety of options, but the quality is inconsistent. Some dishes were good, but not outstanding, and others seemed basic and poorly maintained. The cakes were dry and overly sweet. While they had some redeeming qualities, overall it did not live up to the 4-star rating. I would rate it more as a 3-star restaurant.

The hostess promptly seated us at a table, but we noticed salad dressing spilled on the floor underneath it. She then moved us to another table, where we found food particles and liquid in the corner. As we sat down, my companion observed that the restaurant floors were not clean. We ordered the gyro platter, but my companion was disappointed with the hard roasted potatoes and overcooked meat. The overall quality of the food has definitely declined. Given the price increases and the inconsistency in food quality at this restaurant, we do not plan to return.

The dining experience at the restaurant was fantastic, but unfortunately, the service was lacking. Before I even placed my order, I informed the server that we would need separate checks. However, when she finally brought the bill, it had not been split up as requested and took a long time to rectify. Additionally, my bill included a checkout fee that no one else in my party had. It was confusing why this fee was added to my ticket before we even determined if I would be paying with cash or credit.

This place was once a stone for my food when I went to johnson city. eating seems really dropped off and/or ever changed since pandemic. the server is still great. I've never waited for a space for more than ten seconds. it is really just eating that is so disappointing compared to what I expected. I'm not sure what changed, but even the moussaka is different. it is still convenient and fills a fair price when staying in sleep. but it is not really worth going out of that.
