We decided to change things up and get some fish and chips for lunch to go. We had been to this cafe before and had enjoyed the meals there. Unfortunately, this time we were very disappointed and felt we were overcharged. We paid $18 for two very small pieces of fish, which seemed to be frozen and reheated, along with a small serving of chips. I asked the staff member multiple times about the portion size and how much an extra piece of fish would cost ($9.90 for a pack including 1 piece of fish and chips), but she had to keep going to check. She initially said it would cost $16, but when it came time to pay, she told us it was $18.
My experience at Glendon Street Cafe was great. The server was friendly as she took our order for two plain hamburgers. We chose to sit inside due to the cool and windy weather outside. Our hamburgers arrived promptly, though the meat patty could have been cooked a bit more. The burgers were topped with bbq sauce, tomato, lettuce, and delicious beetroot slices.
Had our wedges with chilly beef and 2 types of cheese, was nice. came fast. we did remember to ask no salt and no sweet chilly source which made the dish eatable.
Sit alfresco on the footpath or inside at booths or tables/chairs. Clean and bright. Friendly and quick service. Scrambled eggs were watery and tasteless but nice toast.
