Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWe've planned this trip ages ago to go London from Cornwall with friend for one of us birthday. This was the only food I had through all day and I had the most horrible food poisoning ever. We've had beef burgers and girls had veggie wraps along with chips. Under one of the burgers there was a piece of paper and meat was suspicious. My heart rate went up to 193bpm, I had all the things that could possibly happen due to the food poisoning. Thanks for messing up such an important day for us, we had to go back to our apartment as I was feeling terrible. I hope staff sees and realises that their food does impact people day/days. Again, never trust places like this because you don't know what they're serving you. Ciao!
... it's now some pseudo Crystal-like ski holiday experience. The starters are simple ... it is wot it say on the side of the tin. The main course options reminded me of a previous student life, or as Henry Ford once said ... you can have this one or this one (mais ou menos). I get the ski lodge-type alure, but (having skiied a few times) a welcoming ambiance provided by an array of fake wooden cut-out skis would only fool a moron in a hurray. Sadly, I had a 5yo in-tow and no other option. Needless to say I will not be returning (to what was once a great spot) ... such a shame, 409 was something local and something great.
I brought my mother to this restaurant for afternoon tea some time ago. We had the entire place to ourselves and liked the spacious atmosphere. The food selection was varied and the experience was relaxing. A delightful afternoon tea.
My partner booked this place for my birthday, what a lovely secret little treat in the heart of Clapham! Secret buzzer, great decor even on the stairwell up to the restaurant and food full of flavours the deluxe picnic for 2 is well presented on a hipster mini picnic table of course! and more like tapas but nevertheless filling and samples Jimmy's ideas really well, esp the salmon duck egg scotch egg tuna tartar! Wine £20+ but some nice bottles on the list, including desert wine which I'm a sucker for. Cocktails are raved about but didn't try on this visit. Pudding secret garden surprise?! a lovely OTT chocolate desert, so sweet we shared. Service ok, we were left pretty much to it I'd rather that than have someone hover by the table! but for some strange reason they put the a c on midway through our meal which not only meant the hot food in the picnic went cold but also that I sat with goosebumps. It took two requests for the waitress to turn it down off by which point food me! were cold. However this was the only gripe. I still think the place warrants the 5* for food and overall experience. Only there for another month as a pop up, would return for a new one as the venue was charming.
One time the experience was excellent, but the next time it was just average. The restaurant serves Nouvelle British cuisine, with a chef who was previously at Chez Bruce. While some of the dishes on the menu are similar to Chez Bruce's, they are not as good.
