The service I received from when I stepped into the restaurant to when I passed the threshold on my exit, was brilliant. It was a quiet night, so I can't comment on whether this is the standard or just that we were only one of a handful of guests that night. The menu was large and had all manner of indian and indian-inspired dishes. The temperature (spicey-ness) ranged from mild to ultra-hot, and all dishes were clearly labelled. Dishes ranged from £6.60 to £12 (for larger platters). The food came quickly after we had ordered, and our plates were cleared politely once we had finished. And once our meal had ended we were presented with complementary shots of Irish Cream. Which is a nice touch after a hot indian curry. For those who want to be silly, there is a small selection of English dishes, but I strongly suggest you should try something new from the plethora of dishes. A final note, the restaurant itself was pleasantly decorated in a modern minimal indian-inspired style, and the bathrooms were clean. And I would come again!
I used to work for this restaurant,so I think i can offer some insights. it is an indian restaurant run by a bangladeshi family. The people are very nice to work with and the food are really amazing there! HOWEVER, because of my experience working there, i know they do have hygiene problem. They use good quality chicken but they tend to froze them for very long period of time, therefore, it wont be really fresh anymore. I think it might happen to most of the indian restaurants, they like to cook a lot of curry sauce and keep them in the fridge for more than a week... Sometimes they would pick up the onion baiji which dropped on the floor and serve to customers...scary!! Here i still give 4 stars cos the tastes of food are great and they use the fresh spices instead of powders while making the curry. So now its your turn to decide if its worth visit :p
Had a beltin meal last time friends and i went to the Bombay Balti. Situated on the one way system it is a very large restaurant and can feel a bit empty because of that. But the food is great and not too expensive. We had the general range of kormas and rogan joshs with bread and poppadoms, pickles and lager. Great. Exactly what you want from an indian restaurant. The decor isn't that bad either which makes a change from lots of indian restaurants. it's not the best curry locally for that you have to go to Bolton le Sands but I've always had a decent meal there.
Just not a very good experience, even though everything was okay. Not easy to find something vegetarian that looked good. Many dishes came with the choice of meats or vegetables, but substituting meat for vegetables doesn't really make it a good vegetarian dish. I wish they had more lentil and chickpea options. The food was okay, but nothing more. Small glasses of water that you run out of vert quickly. Soggy naan. Would have wanted more rice (and you had to pay extra for it). Long wait for the check.
Went here last week with a friend, wasnt busy and the waiter would not leave us alone, while we were eating he started trying to have a conversation with me where i was from, what I did, whether me and my friend were related, then started telling us what he was studying at uni etc etc. It was really awkward as he stood at our table for over 15 minutes while we were trying to eat. Then I had a big fatty bit in my chicken absolutely disgusting I was nearly sick. Rice was cold. Maybe I just got unlucky as it has some good reviews, but I will definitely not be going back to this place.
