The Is a little steep. But you get what you pay for. And it's a top2/3 pizza in the general area. Speaking of which, poor location for eateries. That was the problem from day 1. Sad. Good eateries bad location.
This place is so unique with flavors and textures you can’t find on pizza anywhere else. Mike puts his heart into this and you can tell every time. I’ll miss them being local, but can’t wait to see how well they do in Philly come spring!
Pizza Jew, you sir are doing it right. I first saw pictures of his pizza on instagram and was ecstatic when I realized it's so close to my family home in EHT. I would say the squares are better than the round. The sourdough pizza is crack. I've had almost every slice that is offered and while everything is good, my top two is the pepperoni with jalapeno slices/hot honey and the vegetali. To describe the pizza, it's similar to detroit style but better. One square slice is big enough for a meal. The crust is crispy burnt cheese ends while the center is fluffy, sourdough bread with a nice chew. I heard Mike (the Pizza Jew) is bringing his talents to Philadelphia, and I'll certainly be there.
My husband and I frequently visit the shore from Brooklyn and we've been meaning to try Bakeria forever. Finally made it today and wow! We are two very different pizza people he's a classicist who loves a simple Margherita slice (and he's an overall Ny pizza obsessive); I'm a non crust eater who loves toppings and we were both totally impressed by the Sicilian style slices here. Above all, the dough, OMG it's like the fluffiest focaccia ever, pillowy, not at all as dense and heavy as Sicilian crust often is, and the crispy cheesy edges are heavenly. Perfect amount of cheese and toppings he had the margherita of course, me the pepperoni, and I took a mushroom slice to bring back to Brooklyn. Yes, that's how good it is. And don't sleep on the chicken fingers either! Also loved the mini food hall setup where the shop is located you'd never know from the street but it's in a cute open layout space w a bubble tea place among other food options. Lots of seating, with some tables outdoors in front.
Some of the best pizza around. The owner takes pride in everything he creates.
